I heard that Ethanol is supposed to be going away for premium unleaded gasoline only. Is there any truth to that? Curious if anyone has heard anything like that?

Around here, in NW Montana, I think our premium fuel has no ethanol already. I could be wrong though.

No ethanol

Yep. In Nebraska and Wyoming, the places we get sled gas don't have ethanol in the premium (thank goodness!)

We don't have ethanol in our premium (91) or regular (87) just in the 89 with 10% ethanol and the E30 and E85

Don't count on it going away.
It's a good alternative to giving all of our money to the sand fleas in the middle east.

We will see some evolution of this industry though as new sources are experimented with. (corn stocks, cobs, different grasses, wood chips etc)

to my knoladge it has always been that way around here hasnt it.

Ya it has been as long as i can remember and we have ethanol plants everywhere its kind of odd that we aren't required to have ethanol in all of our gas, but i guess our state just knows whats up ha;)

I hope (wish) its true, but I don't think it will be anytime soon in WA. The left side of this state, which is on the left coast, loves to think of themselves as saviors. I bet WA will be one of the first states to go 15% ethanol.

I have read that boating groups/lobbies are pressing the Coast Guard to press some of the states to allow non-ethanol at marinas. Boating industry is much bigger $$ than sledding industry.

Only a few of our pumps here have no ethanol in the 91. They have a sticker stating that the premium is ethanol free. Most are still up to 15% ethanol.

Oh well. Like I said I could be wrong. I guess I just choose the right gas stations to go to.:) I don't think there is a price difference like others are saying though.

I didn't notice any price difference. If there is, it is not much. Only one of the Town Pumps in C.F. have 91 ethanol free. One other station has it in town too, but it is only 89 octane.

I'm pretty sure the Sinclaire in the Heights has ethanol free premium too.

Well I was hoping for no ethanol in premium fuel but it sounds like probably not here in WA.
