Niiiiice, got to go out today and see if the pump really is bad otherwiseill order from there...even with shipping, custom and tax itscheaper then buying stuff here in Sweden
But it sure looks like the old girl is getting oil
no i did not change the oilfilter, im on my way from the gym to my poo dealer to order one. im running a norwegian oil called rs extreme, syntetic top of the line oil. today its ±0° c
Hey a question guys, do you kow if the newer style dragon/assault console will "fit" on the 2006?
I'm thinking that if i have to order the oil pump from babbits(dirtcheap did not ship to Sweden and babbits take ~$180 in shipping for just the oil pump) i might as well change the broken fender i got, and then i might as well get the 09 plastic...and a pro-taper bar, and the switches for mfd, hand warmer, high beam and perc, so it would be nice to have the newer style console to.(console, switches, 09 kit, oil pump, starter solenoid and shipping runs about the same as oil pump and a stock fender here...got to love American prices )
I have a wilwood brake control, a billet throttle block and stop switch from a old snopro that went to snowmobile heaven that i can use.
they fit but you have to bend them down a little and they have gaps on the side of the tank. Does not look bad though, just give more venting. They also cover up the hole left when you remove the rider select.
ok, nice...that's the regular raw console right, i was thinking on the assault ones but i just looked and with everything needed they where over $300 vs 66 for the one-piece console, not worth the extra money for some aluminum and pre cut holes for the switches
Thanks Z-Man!
oh yeah the shipping got bumped up by almost $100 to 264, still 1225 total with shipping is ~$100 cheaper that just the 09-plastic kit from my local dealer.
I must ask, is it possible that the oilpump is just clogged?
It only fills the main oil-line with biiiig air bubbles, the lines after the pump is full of oil
yepp started to tear of the pipe and tb's but had to hit the gym before they closed im going to go through everything tomorrow and im hoping that something is clogged, or as you say a hole in the line.
Lines are cheep, You might want to just replace the whole line coming from the oil tank. Be sure to cover it wire plastic wire loom protector on the back side of the motor and where it comes around the side. The factory left a lot of it exposed were it could rub on the engine and bulkhead. Install a new filter they only cost about $1.
well if the line is busted it got busted due to my routing after having the engine out, no signs of wear on it when i pulled the engine. I bought the filter yesterday, cost me all of $5
Soooooo, the pump is pumping. changed the oil filter also and I'm holding my thumbs that its going to work now, i cant test it until tomorrow.
If its still not working the line is bad or the oil canister is clogged.
BTW: Is the oilfilter supposed to lay on that bracket that goes over the sec. clutch shaft?
(Yes i did not pay enough attention removing it the first time )
Huh? Oil filter sets on front side of engine on clutch side. Hose runs out of tank and across back of engine than up over the side of the engine and through a plastic clip.
on my sled it is right up buy the oil tank and has been since new(only had one factory service done on the sled at ~600 miles and the service light is on now at 1200miles/60h). Its a 06 if that has anything to do with it...and a swb, not a rmk
ok so this sob still wont pump oil...or rather, it wont bleed the oil line. oil flows through it but don't fill up the line :S
I have checked that the pump i working, new oil filter and new oil line and still a no-go...I'm quite sick of having the sled in parts now, done 100 miles this year and as it looks its about two, in best case three weeks left of the season
