Engine seized, found this

so i have pulled the engine and fixed the cylinder and put a new piston in it and when i was putting things back together last night i found this, and it only looks as if it sucked in **** in the mag side(the side that seized, ran lean) pto side don't have no dust in it.
what may have caused this? i have a Timbersled intake, bad filter or what?

Looks kinda weird but it must be the lighting, gotta be belt dust. You should be able to find where that much snuck in. Looks like you found out why she went.

yeah i was thinking belt dust and as you say, must be why she seized. but it looks as it does in the photos with only one tb in each, the pto side looks new and the mag side looks like its 20 years old  as far as i can tell there is no dust in the pto side and i find that strange.
Well i guess the stock air box is finding its way back on the sled...good waste of money on the timbersled intake

Well with a timbersled intake you have individual filters for each side, right? If only the mag filter setup was leaking that would be the only cyl affected. The crank case cavities are separated inside the engine. I don't know that intake setup well, but I`m sure it should be easy to locate the leak... torn filter, mis-shapen or cracked adapter

Is it piston dust? Sometimes when they go that stuff gets everywhere. Even the airbox will have a layer.

Maybe that's why the dust looks different... but should it be able to come back through the reed valve??

No the timbersled intake is the stock boost-box with a cone-filter on it, that's why I think its strange that only the magside is dusty.
Piston dust, maybe...the dust has a kind of metallic shimmer to it so its not impossible. But I'm wondering as danbot is, can it really get past the reed?

I am thinking INDEEP is right

Yes, it can sneak past the reeds and get into everything.

On the Timbersled intake make sure you have a good seal to the airbox. I have had them come loose. I recommend putting some silicone around where they connect to the factory airbox and put some blue locktite on the screws that hold the adapter on.

So its back together and soon broken in, but i got a problem...I have bled the oil-lines but today when i was checking over everything i found that the oil feed line was half filled with air, so i bled it again but cant go out riding until tomorrow to see if the pump starting to pump or not.
Is it common that you have to bleed the lines several times?

I've never had a problem bleeding mine using the procedure in the manual

1. fill oil resevoir to ensure enough pressure for gravity feed
2. back off bleed screw for about 30 sec (Placing a rag under the oil pump will minimize the mess)
3. tighten bleed screw

Works for me every time!

Mine bled right away with no problems. I wonder if you might have a problem with the pump that caused the engine to fail in the first place. Make sure you are putting oil mixed with the fuel too.

nope shipping is free after 100... i have ordered TONS from them... my only complaint is it takes almost 2 to 2.5 weeks to get (i live in vancouver, canada). but i guess you can't keep it all in stock.

I'm in Quebec and 6-10 days of that time could be border processing - at least that's my experience based on use of a tracking number and observing into/out of customs.

Unfortunately my local dealer is 500 miles away from AZ and in Montana my local dealer is 50% more expensive for everything.

I agree!!, but yes its hard to support when you can the same part for almost half the price... i tend to buy small stuff from dealer (filters, oil etc).

and you can't just call up an online company and ask em why they think it would be missing on one cylinder like you can with a dealer, someone has had to spend the hours trouble shooting these problems.
