I put together 4 plastic totes with emergency survival/breakdown stuff.

Each tote has:
10 ft tow rope, zip ties, duct tape, needle nose pliers, slip-joint pliers, multi-tip screwdriver, steel wire, matches, fire log starter, compass, emergency blanket, hatchet, bunjies, small container of 2 stroke oil, two BPR9ES spark plugs, toilet paper, maps, aluminum cup, 9hr candle, LED flashlight w/extra batteries, two 5x7 plastic tarps, pair of cotton work gloves, pocket hand wamers, small first aid kit, beef jerkey, and a can of Spam. Also nearby will be a 2 gal can of premium fuel.

Each kit cost me over $75 to put together.
I will be placing them in the backcountry not too far off the trail system for EMERGENCY USE ONLY!

If you are in need use it! If possible please return later and put back what you used. If you can't make it back then please contact me so I can replace it.

Once I get them in place I'll have the GPS coordinates available for those riding in that area. Hope to have them out by Christmas.

Any other suggestions please post them.

Please don't take anything as I'm unemployed and $$ is hard to come by. Just trying to help out someone in need.

Chuck

I can tell you where I have found 1 guy that was lost for two days out there and another that I know of that was found in the same spot. PM me and will give this location it appears to be a hot spot for guys to get stranded. I also would like to suggest some other spots like seven fools since I know with a deep snow guys can and do get stuck in there. Kudos, nice idea.

Awesome idea and to find someone willing to do it on their own dime. I just hope you don't get taken advantage of and people will truely leave them alone unless they are in an emergency situation. Pat on the back to you from me.

Good Guy

I would also like to thank you for the kits to be put out. I don't ride the snowies much, but it's nice to know that there are people like your self still looking out for others.
God Bless, Merry Christmas :beer; Chuck to you & your loved 1's.

Hoping to put them out this coming Wed. weather permitting.

If anything needs to be added to the list, let me know by then and I'll do my best to get it in the box.

Thanks, Chuck

Great idea man. I know a person can get lost up there. Real easy! Wind comes up. before you know it. Its white out. Great job!!

Way to go...

Chuck,

Take it from someone who spent the night in the Snowies last Saturday, a kit like this could have made our night much easier. My hats off to you for stepping up and providing a way for those who get of track.

A couple space blankets would have been invaluable up there in the storm.

Thanks again!

Chuck, a great idea. I'm sure you thought of this, I'd include you're inventory sheet and the instructions you put in your original post. That way someone doesn't carry it off thinking someone else lost it.

guys, this is the kind of person chuck is. even though he is unemployed, he still would give the shirt off his back to somone in need. and he is still giving to the sport he loves, for people he has never met.

he truely deserves a break in the job market for sure. if you know anyone in the loveland colorado area looking for a great engineer, chuck is your man.

thanks from the michigan crew chuck. good things are going to come to you soon.

This is a good idea. I live in Laramie, if you need donations, tools, blankets or whatever I know I could round up my sledding friends to help out. Will also keep my ear open for any jobs. Hopefully good things will happen for you on getting a job. bosscat800

I will donate if need be Chuck. I ended up staying out over night last year none of that stuff was needed for us but a great idea and if need be I am willing to help out.

Chuck this is a great idea. Thank you for doing this for allof us out here. Maybe you should try putting donation boxes around at the local dealers. I will donate to this great cause.

I added the candles, compasses, and tarps to the list. Had them in there but just forgot.
I picked up a few BPR9ES plugs and hope to find a few more to toss in the kits.

I'll take photos of the area as well and post them once I get them out. Each spot will be marked with some flourescent orange tape as well.

I did put in a piece of paper and a pencil in case someone needs to leave a note.

Hopefully this post inspires others to join together as well and do the same in their favorite riding areas.;)

Please post your address or pm your address I would like to send replacement plugs/supplies.
Thank you
Kent
