Has anyone been to Elk City, for rideing? Looking for conditions?

Went there two weeks ago. They got hit early like the rest of us, had a storm pass through grangeville just before we left so riding was better but they still need about a foot of snow to cover the stumps. Road just about anywhere we wanted as it was pretty hard...but any day not working is fun!
Thanks for the come back. We're headed that way Feb 7th, do we stay in Grangeville or Elk City?
We stayed at a friend of a friends cabin in Dixie. I know they have a motel there but not sure if the one in Elk City is still open. Two years ago we stayed at the Prospector cabins, they are out of town but you can sled from you doorstep (depending on snow or if the road is plowed or not). The phone # I have in my notebook is 208-842-2597. Let me know how it is, Pretty sure we are headed to the Blue Mountains south of Lewiston next weekend. Grangeville also has some trails if you want to stay there, bet the snow is pretty thin though, they have a Motel 8. Kent
