Poo, including Liberty or Fuji, has never had a true class leading, or even consistently competitive big bore, 800 or larger OEM engine, twin or triple. Some exceptional chassis' and great mountain clutching. There has a to be a first time eventually, at least for a year or two. Always chasing ghosts. Maybe this is it. Let the Axys R&D crew work them out, first, but until they get hard miles day after day in the mountains, it's just pure, fun, speculation. They obviously will be dropping this motor into a RMK next year, barring a 900 Fusion disaster.
What 2003 Vertical escape . There wasn't another sled that came close..
 
This is not true at all. It states in one of the snowmobile magazines (snow goer or snow tech) that the Pro X out ran both the Ski-Doo and the Arctic Cat for miles and miles. I would say that it didn't run out of power and it beat the other sleds with a 1.75" paddle track.

To clarify, the 800 CAT Engine has always used the same bore and stroke as the Polaris 800Big Block & Small Block. 70mm stroke, 85mm bore

Thats why fix kit pistons are m8 pistons..

Polaris used the 70mm stroke and 85mm bore in 2000, Cat followed suit in 2008 with the M8. To be fair, Cat did use the 70mm stroke in the 05-07 M7 engine. In fact a lot of the M7 to 800cc big bore kits in that vinatge (Cutler, D&D) used Polaris 800 BB pistons in their kits.

And the Polaris BB pistons can be used in the CFI, just takes some major head changes.

The new HO engine is quite impressive thats for sure. A lot of time/money was spent to make this possible.
 
I like the reports I am seeing recently on the new HO and we all know it is way over due- and gets our mouth watering-

I always shutter that we (the public) find- or are faced with over looked defects- and we scratch our heads wondering why or how this was missed- as we are lead to believe that sleds are pre-rode HARD ( even by us sometimes at yellowstone EXPO) to assist in the revealing some of the weak areas.. Warranty is for these .... but we still tend to be reserved with 1st year production especially when in a mountain configuration.

Results are taken and we still have problem (short comings) with final production models- i.e. Lords glue- ECU mapping for EPA regulations to name a few.

I hope this is not the case for 2016 with this remarkable, much anticipated motor design.
Time will tell - but truly 2016 with consumer input- time in the saddle we can have a good thing coming to those that can wait, and appreciate the feedback we receive from those that could not.

Given my experience on the new trail cats, doo, and poo... the 800 HO from polaris was every bit as strong, off the line and speed wise. However, if i were buying a trail sled the mxz ski doo handled the best by far. All my write ups on the new sleds can be found in Sledworthy Magazines (including the Pro-x and the T3 174
 
2014 pro-r 800 runs 10-66 weights with a 120/310 spring at 0-2000 ft
2015 axys 800 runs 10-66 weights with a 100/275 spring at 0-2000 ft
 
Ahh, you Ford and Dodge guys are going to hate me but I must use the past HD truck tests as a comparison. The Chevrolet/GMC has less power and torque on paper but it has dominated the HD tests for the past few years in almost every category. I look at the Polaris the same way. Even with less horsepower, it has been very dominant in the mountains. With the new H.O. motor and other changes in 16, it will just be that much better. I will be snowchecking a 16 for sure. However, I may keep my 13 Pro for my wife. She loves that sled and I have not had one problem with it. It runs hard. No oil pump adjustment or anything else. Just shock valving, heavier spring on the rear, lots of venting, Camoplast x3 162" track and SLP Mohawk skis. Best sled I have ever owned hands down.
 
Hopefully someone can figure out how to put the new HO800 in the older chassis (i realize it may not be very feasible). I am just getting my '11 how i want it, dont want to spend a pile on a new one just for the motor.

Thinking the same. Should be very doable and not to many custom fabbed parts. Details on the intake I could see, exhaust needing to be adjusted a little around Y-pipe maybe.

Many may already be at this HP level with the "old" motor at a lower rpm. Always better in my book (lower rpm).

I'm more excited about the changes Poo did to make this HO a little easier to get to the next level and still live and be civil at part throttle.

That is a good point!

My 2011 is now pretty close to what I want. Have a PAR head and some clutching + torque arm from SLP. Motor mounts and pistons have one short season on them so good.

Get comments on how snappy it is and consistently outran a buddys 2011 M8 in a uphill race (ran several times).

Future contains one or more of the following: ECU tweak by Boston Racing (if I ever get his email, LOL), can from Diamond S and the new V-force reeds.
Nothing that would boost my top end to much, but just that little extra pull and most important; LAUNCH when I give the command!

That pretty much sum up what I would like to see in the new sled.
