You lost me at Diamond Drive…."DD=Diamond Drive"…that setup is plain goofy.
Touted as a weight saving, more efficient system when prototyping it. And then when it goes into production they throw two more heavy steel gears in there and loose any weight savings and efficiency it may have had in the prototype phase. That whole move was stupid on BDX and Cat's part. But what does that have to do with Phil's convictions?

I don't see this as a specific violation of the right to free speech because there is no govt. action being taken against him.
that said... I also think it's absolutely stupid to see A&E react like this. I'm not even remotely surprised to see the LGBT community trippin' though. It's all about preaching tolerance for those people... until you have something to say they do not agree with.
I've never watched the show, but I hope they all bail in support of the patriarch.

Depends, if you were in my company vehicle or in my company uniform but off the clock, you would be gone. I've fired people for a lot less.

The laws regarding what you guys are debating about varies state to state, so you could both be right..
A&E was well within their rights to suspend Phil, but it will prove to be an expensive decision in lost revenue.
My God doesn't judge, apparently yours does, that's sad.

Maybe in Canada, but not in Iowa. Would you really sue an ex employer to get a job back where you are not wanted? Why would you want to work in that kind of enviroment?
With all the Duck Dynasty stuff in the stores everywhere you look, seems like a poor business move by A&E to do what they did. I would think that making a statement that his views where not the views of the network would have covered their butts and kept the cash flowing from the show at the same time. The one thing I don't understand is why he gave an interview to GQ magazine in the first place. Not really his crowd of people.
Most states are a right to work state, meaning you can be released for any reason. This mentality of thinking that you can sue if you feel that you have been done wrong is ignorant at best, and brainwashing by the law profession at its worst! Have you ever laid the money down to bring a suit? It isn't cheap and you had better be damn sure you have a case in order to recoup your costs!
As far as Phil Robertson is concerned, he stated his opinion when asked, based on his Christian values! I don't see it as any different than someone on here stating their opinion for what sled, truck, or trailer you use! A&E will realize that it is not about money, rather principle! I think the Robertsons will tell them to pound sand and it will be snatched up by another network!

I have a TV but not a Duck Commander duck call in the place. I have shot a chit load of ducks and consider my shooting skills finely honed. Two thoughts on the topic: why would anyone care what some derelict on a reality show thinks about anything and why would anyone care who some fag sleeps with?

In this US most states are "right to work States" which means you can be let go for NO reason with NO recourse.
Just look at all the publicity this is getting.....is it really as bad as it seems?
