I'd say his employer has the right to pull the plug on him, when he represents that TV network.

Many people (Sarah Palin) are saying this is a violation of his 1st amendment. It is not. The 1st amendment protects you against persecution, or being arrested from your GOVERNMENT. When you represent a TV network, you cannot go out and do an interview for another media source (GQ) and just expect you can say or answer any question.

While I totally agree with you about the networks right to fire him imagine this for a second. Reverse things. What if a network fired an employee for advocating a gay lifestyle (which occurs all the time). Gay rights groups and the left in general would be seeking blood. 1st Amend violation, civil rights, ect would be screamed from the mtn tops not to mention the steroetypical homophobe, facist comments.
