'Duck Dynasty'

Didn't he really just state his preference? Not like he's advocating oppression or anything to put them down.

Since when is it OK for some group to shove stuff down our throats, but another group states a preference and his TV network pulls the plug on him?

How different is this than Jimmy the Greek's comments back in the 80s?

I'd say his employer has the right to pull the plug on him, when he represents that TV network.

Many people (Sarah Palin) are saying this is a violation of his 1st amendment. It is not. The 1st amendment protects you against persecution, or being arrested from your GOVERNMENT. When you represent a TV network, you cannot go out and do an interview for another media source (GQ) and just expect you can say or answer any question.

I understand what you are saying MH...but Duck Commander existed WAY before A&E had the rights to the Duck Dynasty show.

I guess it depends on their contract and if there are any provisions in there that limit his right to share his preferences.

Kind of funny that someone can say that someone should urinate and deficate into some woman's mouth and nothing happens, and it is already ancient history. But when it comes to someone's personal beliefs all hell breaks out.

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

I can't imagine that A&E would want to slaughter their cash cow. However, you never know where they'll ultimately put their final foot down.

Whatever penalty they take from leaving their A&E obligations early, I can imagine other networks tripping over each other to offer a sweet signing bonus (maybe equal to or greater than the penalty) to land that gold mine.

This is likely to backfire on the gays.
Duck Dynasty is like a cult, and now it's followers are going to rip on the feyhgs just to be cool.

It's funny how the fact that what he said was 100% correct is not being mentioned anywhere.

In your mind it might be correct. I could care less if two men or woman are in a relationship or want to get married. Why do you or me have the right to keep another man or woman from seeking happiness by being with the same sex? In my opinion we don't.

It's a tv show, a bad one at that. it will pass just like ever other reality show out there.

This has nothing to do with what you or I may think.
But NOBODY should be stifled simply for talking Scripture.

He reminded us that the drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God.....Did any of us drunks scream of outrage? No, he simply answered questions that were asked of him, and he answered them quite correctly by the way.
