Dragon Tunnel options

I will try and get a couple photos on here but have not done it before so may take awhile to figure out. I wont be able to figure out how to put arrows pointing to the slight ripple/bow/wows in it though......be lucky to figure out how to get the picks up! :face-icon-small-con

sulley, there is no reason you can't just do this to yours and have it stronger then it was stock..without spending a pile of money..this is what I built for my buddies 10 xp..it is now copper colored to match the hood.....

Sully....F-bomb is right about the wide running boards in deep snow... just basic physics .... the more surface area to "highside" your sled... the less the track will be digging.

You should be able to get Mike Vanamburg to make you his tunnel side/running-board/bumper replacement kit with standard width running boards.

Very straight fwd and you dont have to remove your tunnel.

AK snowrider... Sweet job on the XP panels!!

There is a reason I can't do it myself..........mechanically retarded......:face-icon-small-con!

Actually I just don't have the tools for the most part, or patients. That is basically all I need, minus the bumper, rack, and mountain pegs. Looks good AK. I am going to look around locally for a shop that does aluminum work and see what I can come up with. I imagine I can run down to fastrax and Curt can get something done as well. I can always get the sides fortified but the running board brace is already sagging as well so will have to get the heavier duty ones. What are the Better Bars going to run? I don't want wider running boards I know.

Thanks Eric, the only reason I didnt use mike's tunnel sides was that I dont think they are strong enough up frt..since they diagonal down from the tunnel top..if they would have ran to the bulkhead at the top joint I would have bought his setup instead of fabbing my own...on the xp panels I would have removed more material but the owner wanted them solid..for just bracing the tunnel/hitch they are a great peice....

Sulley, if your close to curt..go see him..he has seen my sled(who I went thru for my track, drop and roll and other things...) and I can e-mail him a pic of the xp sides so he has a good idea to start with..also he has pics of my sled...I used meathookers boards(had Robs boards on it to begin with but needed a custom set and rob couldnt get them done in time for me to get this on the snow so went with meats)(and no fault of robs..midplan change for me that made it needed)should be childs play for curt to get you fixed up....

The set of Better Bars will be (red, black, blue, or custom) $199 ($50 less then the weaker factory stockers)..a set of the AWESOME 2010 Better Boards $215...(assuming once I see your damage that it is a fixable situation) me making you a custom support repair plate to any specs $30-$40 if not to intricate. An evening of your time in the shop installing everything and you are good to go. Best performance option...best strength currently available with a minimal weight handicap...and the most cost effective repair. Pretty tough to beat! Also note gang...with aluminum there is no physical way to manufacture an outer support beam part that can even maintain stock strength without adding an additional structural support brackets. Once again on this tunnel application you have to get your support from somewhere other then the bottom 25% of the tunnel or have it somehow tie into the factory designed supports. Or do it like we are and build stronger outer support bars and stronger running boards.
