Bumper/Belly Pan

I don't know what others have done, but I intend to get the belly pan and run it also. If this means mods, well dang. I may be forced to get a bigger beer fridge for the shop! I'll let you know how the project goes. Supposed to get the bumper next week. Bagger:beer;

I have been thinking of how best to do something like that and can't come up with anything I think I would like.

So take lots of pics and let us know how it works.

I just ordered one a week or so ago and they are backordered for 1 or 2 weeks so you better order one soon or santa wont get it there by xmas

am i getting screwed?

so i just got the bill for my wifes 06 600 ho and it's 396.00 for the front belly pan and the part that connects the hood to the bumper and all the rivets and screws and stuff. thats almost the same price for the tcb. and there acouple days out on the back order. i just got off the phone with them. that seem like alot of money for a couple of plastic parts that could break really easy again. is that to much. am i getting screwed?????help

Stock parts....Expensive little buggers arent they!!

I checked with www.ronniesmailorder.com for the parts and you will be just north of $280 for the nose pan (#8), and the hood hinge assembly(#11), the rivets and screws

So if this is all you are getting, yes...you are getting screwed.

But if you are needing other stuff that you are not mentioning like:

The grille in the nose pan (#9),
the grilles in the hinge (#8), the interior cover panel (#1, #5)

Your bumper was ok?

The front grille was ok?

Did that include labor?

If they did the work. No, that is what it costs.
And that is why I put the TCP bumper on.

i called up my dealer, faxed him the two peices that broke and asked him to order me the stuf that i needed to fix it. and no that is all the parts that i need. i still have all the vents and stuff. and thats just the parts no labor. i guess that i will just have to go up there and grab the two parts plus srews and rivits and i'm thinking that the only way it's that expensive is that he ordered way to much stuff...and i was just out looking on the 06 600 and i would have to take off the radiator to put on the tcp bumper... great....thanks for the help

Snow,

Taking out the radiator is VERY easy, and you only need a hardware store variety 3/4" hose mender (or a brass one from the Auto parts store) if you went with the TCP bumper... no block off plate needed..

You can sell your plastic bumper to one of your freinds that breaks his. That would put you most of the way to the cost of the TCP bumper and it will protect a lot better than the stock one.

Good luck with your sled and happy holidays!!!

Pray for snow!!

So anyone else look into having a fab shop do these? I'm no where near the mountains so chances are I will never see one. But I'm with the poor crowd on this $400 for a bumper for a sled seems like alot. I built my entire roll cage in my Jeep for less than that. And that was using a 100' of 1.75" DOM. What are these made out of? I didnt see anything on there site that states the material used. Another thing would be to use a dimple die and put a hole in the front plate. You could use thinner material and be just as strong. Or do you think that it would put to much snow into the front end? If so what about putting some kind of vent material over it.

MountainHorse, Sorry if I missed something. What needs to be done with the radiator? What is the block off plate? Sorry man coming from a ski-doo and just bought a polaris so its all greek to me. I'm still kind of shocked/worried about the whole radiator thing in the front of the sled, why did they do this? Thanks

Kind of hard to compare to building your own cage, what does a prefabbed complete cage go for? Also how big is that market compared to 07 and newer Polaris'. I could fab up a bumper for $20 and it would look like complete crap. Certain things just have to be left to the pros, unless you have the high $$ tools to do it right.

The radiator needs to be removed... No B.S.... The sled will run cooler when you take it out.

You dont need a removal kit with the bumper... ignore the "Insert union from
SLP kit here" note in the photo below. Just get a 3/4" union at the auto parts store and splice the hoses together as shown the remainder of the SLP KIT is a plate, restrictor and hose clamps.

Does the front radiator removal need to be done on an 07 600HO RMK?

Going to order the bumper ASAP after Christmas, got into a few situations yesterday on the sled that had me worried about the bumper. Especially when the helping dig me out after a stuck grabbed the bumper and yanked upward as hard as he could even after I asked him to pull on the ski.

I'm pretty sure (98%) that the 07 RMK's don't have radiators:confused:

You can buy a prebent cage (NOT WELDED) from some very big players in the 4wd market for $300-$350 Race car, street car etc. cages from big vendors such as S&W race cars can be had for $169 and up and thats for 6-8 point cage. So how can 2' of what appears 1" tube be more than say 30-50' of 1.75" tubing. Please dont think I'm in any way knocking the product or anyone on the board. I have been around fab stuff and welders most of my life, so I take things like tig welders, and tube benders for granted. I feel sorry if it takes someone 2 hours to weld that piece. On there site it dont even look like its tig welded. Mountainhorse thanks for the info.

Sup, your 07 600 doesn't have a radiator. No worries.

I'm waiting for my bumper, and will post pics of the process of installing it. I thought I'd have had it by the weekend.........

And NO ONE reef's on the front bumper when getting a sled unstuck, just ask RJ. (I'm kidding you RJ, don't run over my truck with the groomer) Bagger

im sorry guys... i didnt have ANY Front end problems (or belt) that involve reinforcement on my sled.... OH Wait its a Skidoo... so while u guys are spending 2 hours putting on this ugly bumper ill be waiting on the mountain...
