Doo Really Screwed Up This Time !!

??? huh? Its not the reliability of the sleds that are the issue. The dealers have to perform the warranty work and then bill BRP for the time.

BRP: You deserve to have less share of the marketplace you greedy bast@rds! After all the malarky last year of threatening dealers selling sleds cheaper when the cdn dollar was high (re: PRICE GOUGING! let's call it what it is BRP!!!!) and you would not allow other dealers to sell sleds at comparable prices, you deserve everything you are getting.

Let's not get into the warranty issues with the p!ss poor belts that YOU manufactured and then let the poor dealers sort out with their customers, half of which the dealers probably never recuperated those costs for. All the time they spent replacing belts and listening to upset customers or helping them fix their sleds that you didn't get billed for...... That was all time that those dealers could have been selling your competitions sleds.

Shame on you BRP for not helping out the little guys. I guess you would prefer to see your sleds in some big fancy showroom like Bow Cycle preserved for all eternity, instead of on the snow.

Shame on you for not supporting the vendors who distribute your products and have to deal with all your cr@p.

As "average Joe Canadian consumer", I will be outraged if you are awarded ANOTHER govt bailout 5 yrs from now because your sales are lacking..........gee, if only you had more marketshare.............

Shame on you for not looking at the big picture where things could be in 5 yrs, instead of focusing on your "less than projected" profit margins now.

Shame on you for putting all your eggs in one basket, and forcing the Doo loyalists into a single area dealer like Bow Cycle to buy our parts for your sleds, I guess their higher prices and more mark up on YOUR parts mean more Caribean vacations for your BRP CEO's though.....

This is completely disheartening, as I have been a loyal ski doo rider for decades. To allow two good dealers in the area to go down is beyond comprehension.

I only have one more thing to say: Thanks to MotorTech and Mr.R's for all their years of service and technical advice I have received. Thanks for all the parts and I wish you all the best, you both were great dealers.

NSC

I am not going to defend BRP as i have been over all less than impressed with their quality and was actually getting Yamaha prices today. but one fact is BRP rec is a seperate company and has never been given a bailout.

IMO, Dealing with Mr. R's on 3 sleds over a period of 5 years...they made you feel like family and deserve to get out of the racket and enjoy life a bit....They work hard in the summer and don't need the headaches in the winter....I just hope it is an OK ending to a long hard working story!
Rubs!

Hey BB, you might want to check the really really really small print..........

Driving down from Edmonton to pick up 4 sleds from Randy on the weekend. Might be the last ones we buy if things dont shape up with BRP

Had a good chat with Randy. Its too bad they are going, thats for sure. They are the only guys at a "dealer" that I have found worth talking too.

I'm hoping they will re-surface after a year or two off, without the BRP burden.

Now where am I going to ship my parts to Edmonton from?

First time I ever thought of jumping ship, I'm tired of my dealer being 3-4 hrs away. Now I don't have one!

The loss of a great dealer like MR r's and golden doo dealer is probably make a few people jump brands, i know for myself it could make the decision of walking across the street to Cat or back to polaris a little easier, i know one thing i wouldnt walk across this room to go to Bow Cycle.

I guy might be looking a getting a almost new sled and dialing it in and keeping it longer then a year or two.

What about the Doo dealership in Cranbrook?? They're awesome there! ;)They seem like they really know their stuff.

My folks live in Creston so I have tried to get stuff there the odd time. What a friggin joke! I get the feeling they are all more interested in Harleys. Cant believe skidoo wouldnt pull that franchise.

HAHA - yeah. Stopped by there to get a bearing once on my way through - they didn't have a 6205 bearing!! LOL - who the fug doesn't stock a 6205 bearing? Pretty much every sled ever manufactured used this bearing. I think Ski Doo used them from 1930 to about 2008 last time I checked. So I went to Lordco and bought 10 of them for about $8.

which is probably why they didn't stock them in the first place - lordco's retail is probably less than their cost from brp.

nate

Would have paid the extra $3-4 from BRP to get the bearings but no one seems interested in stocking parts anymore. I keep hearing that there is too much overhead  in keeping parts in stock. I would think that having some common bearings or a few jets laying around wouldn't be too much overhead.......

I understand it for some of the stuff, but c'mon I'm not asking for the moon and stars...when a dealer has to tell you they have to order in MAIN JETS??? (another experience with another Doo dealer) or some other extremely common part that routinely wears out... I'm going to purchase my stuff from the guys that keep me on the snow, not in the garage.

Motortech was awesome at this, you could swing in there and they always had lots of stock and even some more obscure stuff too. All sorts of clutch springs, etc etc, you name it and they probably had one for you to buy.

Couldn't agree more. Both my sled and my wifes came from Mr R's. Just an awsome group to deal with and excellent service. I was just there last week. I live 6km's from Bow Cycle and drive 160km's to Mr R's cause it's worth it for the service I get. They show you what is wrong, how to maintain etc. Forcing these guy's out isn't going to force me to Bow Crap and will be riding another brand if needed.

This is a sad day in skidoo history, how bad does it have to get for the dumb a$$ CEO's to figure out something is wrong with their corporate model and how they treat their highest market share dealers. You blind bastards. I have been dealing with Ken for many years, and you just can't find that level of freindship matched with customer service and relations. It makes me sick to my stomach. And yes I too will not darken any of the other so called dealers in my area. I won't even give them my broken wheel barrel to fix. I think it might be time to move over to another brand. It just goes to show you what customer service is all about when you are ready to make a change to another brand. we need to take doo off their high horse and get their heads out of the clouds to see the real picture. My thanks and support go out to Ken and his family.

yea , I've been there, done that with doo 25 years ago, and I feel bad for ole Kevy at Mr R's, as he will start getting the donut withdrawals soon.
