Don’t ride your 18 or 19!!

Talking with a guy I know that rides a 2019 Alpha. He was having bogging issues put a new set of plugs in bog gone. Something to try. Not saying it will fix everyone’s bog I just know it fixed his

How many rides on the new plugs? I am not sure I would call it fixed yet....

My buddies Alpha bogged out bad on a powder day, had to nurse it back to the truck. He changed the plugs and sealed the intake. Next ride it ran perfect but less powder and not as aggressive a ride. Took it out for a second ride on the new plugs and sealed intake. Makes it all day, starts bogging in the afternoon and had to nurse it back to the truck again. He was getting a temp warning and the idle fluctuation, full of coolant, feet of fresh snow, cool temps... Was losing power pretty good just before loading it on the truck.

He took it to the dealer yesterday, I have not heard the outcome yet.

the throttle safety switch is a POS and have had to unplug more than one on the hill.. because of the bog. not saying there are not other problems but this one gets confused with others.

this sounds just like the proclimb now. mine doesn't bog, my buddy says his does. I suspect dirty clutches can affect how it takes off, not saying that's everyone with a bog's problem. I think its something thats overlooked maintenance wise tho. clutches, throttle freeplay, APVs, something..

Nothing? Dealer said there is only 1 re-flash and it runs a little more erratic with high idle.

getting conistant reports from people who updated that the sled idles stupidly high and does not run as good as it used to.

One reported sled idles so high that it will creep forward in the parking lot when warming up. Said he had to lock his brake to keep it from wandering off slowly.

My 18 MC was reflashed. Ran fine before. Runs fine now. Even on water apparently.

Ya, my sled runs great now. It does have a high idle but it is manageable and predictable.

Change anything in the computer?
Have they contacted cat to see what options are available?

He called cat and told them. They say first they heard of it which is BS. People with high idle need to tell their dealers to call cat and tell them so the word gets out that it is an issue

After reflash, My 18 now idles at 2,200-2,400.
My 19 1,400-1,700.

my idle is not bad but theres a low mid bog now when there was nothing wrong ,i heard silber is doing the reflash.

Has anybody noticed if oil consumption has gone up since the reflash because my 18 sips oil it kinda scares me ? havent done the reflash yet becauise mine is running so good but if the reflash helps it drink some more oil maybe that will be a good thing in the long run! I dont want to be premixing all its life!
