Dol

Is it just me or is Washington department of licensing getting sh!tt!er every year? I used to get 4 snow park permits a year (2 sleds) with my registrations now I haven't been mailed one for the past 2 years. Am I missing something? Riding in the morning and I just realized I don't have mine.

Yeah, they seem to "forget" to send em out in the mail. When I went it to license mine, the lady told me I could have a whole stack if I wanted them because they always end up with so many extra.

So how many exactly are we supposed to get with each sled registered?

To those who don't register and pay $$$, I hope you are not whining about the lack of grooming or the loss of riding areas due to lack of funding.

$39 to support grooming is far more appropriate for sledding than paying that amount here for web access. :)

Ive always been told 1 pass per regestration, atleast thats what i have been getting every year. Im not sure about doing it on-line as i always go down in person and ask for them when i get my tabs.

I asked DOL about this. They are supposed to issue 1 park permit/reg. and you can buy additional if needed.
They used to hand them out like candy at halloween but not anymore.

I have always gott'en two per sled. Although they did forget them one year when I bought my tabs early.
When they first came out with the snow park pass system. The official policy was two parking passes per registered snowmobile.
As a side note, its best to buy your tabs early. Since there is a cut-off date for the grooming fund.
For example those who buy tabs now, the funds will to the 2010-11 grooming season.

One per registration

Yes it's true they used to give you 2 per sled reg, State parks finally sent all the dmv offices a notice telling them , ONE PER SLED, any additionals will cost money. We dont need to give anything away, our snowmobile program is hurting for money. Some DMV offices are a little loose when it comes to these.

I didn't get my permit when I got mine through the mail, but called and picked them up right by my house

While we are on the subject of DOL, did any one buy and then go to register a preowned machine this year? What did you pay for tabs & registration change. I don't care about the sales tax just the other fees.

I know this is beating a dead horse and a few tried to get this started last year but I would be willing to pay a flat registration/grooming fee of $50 a year if I knew that extra would go to the grooming fund.

I used to get 2 per sled reg but zero doesn't cut it. Thankfully riding buddy had an extra.

Baker sucked anyway.............but I did get to break in the 800 update!

Its too early for any one to care about the grooming. Wait until mar/april when every fair weather rider is at baker... then you'll have more support. But, by then its two little two late:mad:

Tried to pick up a tag

I went into the DOL today to get my tags, this is the first year I've sledded in Washington but I've owned my sled for over a year. They wanted me to pay sales tax on a sled that I've owned already because I didn't pay sales tax in Montana??? Does this seem like BS to anyone else, is there a way around this?

Same with everything re-sold here, cars, guns, sleds etc. If you buy it from a dealer or report of sale said you paid so much for it the state will tax you again. So if you trade your car in that you purchased in Wa and already paid sales tax on it the next guy that buys it has to pay sales tax on it again.

Your situation is even way more F'd up! Don't sound right to me, you didn't purchase it in Washington and your just transfering the reg over to Washington right?
