Dogs chasing cars?

Same problem, only this dog bit my 3 yr old cousin(not hard, but enough to deserve a BIG kick in the chest!!). We were walking by and this dog bounded out and just got him when I lifted him up! Told the owner(jackazz) to take care of his dog, he yelled back some crap, then I told him that if that dog does anything like that to anyone ever again I was going to pack my .40 down and there and bore 18 holes in the side of it! Haven't really had problem since, but always prepared! I really like dogs but.....

I have the same problem, It seems like that dog waits just for me i'm the only vehicle it goes after. I'm thinking i'm going to try the door idea.

That's funny someone mentioned the thing about a gunny sack. My grandfather used to deliver milk when he and my grandmother were first married. I remember him telling me about the gunny sack on the wheel trick for chasing dogs. He went on to tell me how he almost crashed the milk van multiple times because he would be laughing his arse off watching the dog/s tumble down the road after they bit into that burlap sack.

And she is also looking for any way she can to get him to stop, he's apparently been hit twice already and still does it!
I've heard the water balloons...he comes at me from the passenger side though, not sure how I'm going to dodge a dog, shift and wing balloons out the window...but might be worth a shot!

Just take someone for a ride with you who can lauch water bombs at him. Drive back and forth doing it until he stops. Frankly it sounds fun! I'd come down and do it with you if I lived closer.

The dog may be a PITA, but he's part of someone's family and I'm sure they'd be devistated if he was hurt. It does seem that if they really cared he wouldn't be allowed out by himself with this bad behavior. Maybe they should call Cezar Millan!

Why dont you let it take a chomp outta ya somewhere and sue the owners azz  Id take care of it "my way" but my way is a little un-orthodox to most people. So do the American thing and get a little bite taken outta ya and go get you a lawyer. Probably wouldnt hurt to have a passenger to testify :rose:

Just give the steering wheel a good jerk in the dog's direction when he's by your front tires. He'll stop pretty quick.

Had that problem when I owned an old chevy pick-up with manual tranny.
When the dog chased, I would turn off the ignition, coast for a little bit while pumping the gas pedal a few times then turn the ignition back on.... BOOM !
LOL, he quit

----- Gimpster -----

that trick there is like wd-40! Hundreds of applications!!!!!

Anyway you can get someone from the Human Society or Animal Control to drive down the street at the same time you do to witness this? I'd hate to see a dog get ran over because of neglect from it's owner.

I ran into this problem once!! Literally!! The neighbors dog would run out in front of me all the time. One day I was coming in hot and the dog ran out in front of me! The last thing i saw was his collor hitting the windshield. I stopped and chatted with the neighbor as he witnessed the incident. He said he felt bad but the dog had it coming. I said I was sorry and handed him his collor.

Not much you can do...
