Do factory clutches come balanced with their mis-matched weights?

Are new clutches balanced blank or with the weights in them (Arctic Cat)? I was going to blue print the weights on my new sled, but started wondering if these clultches are balanced with mis-matched weights. Could you actually unbalance a clutch by blue printing shoddy factory weights?

What do you mean by mis-matched weights?

Some "owners" used two different sets of weights in the 4 weight clutch.

As far as balancing, your weights should all be the same weight, or you will be chasing gremlin's in your clutching.

The stock weights can easily be off by +/- 0.5 grams or so. There was more than 1 gram difference between the lightest and heaviest in the last set of arctic cat weights that I checked. Last time I clutched one of these sleds I blueprinted all the weights: took 70 gram factory weights that were in fact anywhere from 69.5 to 70.6 and made them all 69.5. If these clutches are balanced with the inconsistant factory weights, wouldn't it unbalance the clutch when I blueprint the weights?

I am worried about a 2010 m-8, but I posted here because the question would apply to any weighted ramp clutch. I think factory polaris weights are inconsistent as well.

I believe the clutches are balanced without weights installed.
Now when I say balanced, I mean "YOU" take the clutch to someone to have it balanced.

Production clutches are considered "balanced" if they are round.

Not just your opinion, it's fact.
All clutches benefit from balancing and balancing the components in them.
Infact, I took a Comet 4-Pro that took out 2 cranks on a 809 tripple and exploded two other times, rebuilt it, balanced it, balanced my weights.....been on the same sled for 10 years and has been rebuilt once.....last year......for me, the difference is all in balancing the same clutch......

If your not going to take your clutch to a machine shop and get balanced.....atleast balance the weights and pins, you'll be glad you did.

Production clutches are balanced....there is material removed and clips or washers added depending on the brand of clutch. To what tolerance they are balanced and method used, I do not know. I would like to know the process used.
