Do all stock ski's suck?

So i rented a M8 this weekend and i find myself pissed off because the Mother will not turn a slow speeds in the trees, and everyone knows that it was like spring snow. This is with 250 lbs leaned over on one damn ski and still will not pick between the trees. I have seen this same thing happen with Polaris RMK, same snow conditions. I have tri keels on my sled now and have never had an issue. so are all stock ski's dog turds?

There's nothing wrong with the ski's. You need to shorten the limiter strap under the track to give it more ski pressure.

wouldn't have made a difference.
He had it pulled over on one ski at about 45 degree angle and the ski wouldn't bite. It just pushed.
My polaris does the same thing in spring hard pack.
The ski's just arn't aggressive enough to bite in and overcome the longer tracks.
Too much traction, not enough ski bite.

That guy made his RT1000 still look good after he lost one at speed!

I think thats what sealed his Hawk purchase at Hawk Fest.:)

you realy only use 1 ski at a time anyway

:rolleyes:After all the radicaly abusive rides we have gone on. I have not herd of anyone completely toasting the Ski on a Hawk.

I think the "gripper" ski's that came on my RMK are the best stock ski's I've used to date. I have no plans on replacing them....and that's the first thing that usually goes.

allot of the guys I ride with (all on turbo yamies) put skidoo skis on, there cheap and awsome! I ride the X2's and they seem great too. simmons bite too much for my preference...
