differences between 07 700 to 09 700

Y
i was looking at getting an 07 dragon 155 and was just wondering what the differences is between that sled and like an 09. i,m pretty sure that the 07 doesn,t have extrovert drivers in it, and the rails are lighter, are the motors the same. how much weight difference between them . thanks for the info

The one thing that is the biggest diffrence IMO, is the new front end, spendles, sway bar. The handling his so much more of an improvement that it dose not even seem like the same sled. As far as I know they still have the liberty motor.

The pistons changed in 08 to stronger ones I am told. I think any replacement pistons you get from Polaris will be the stronger version. But I have 2,500 hard miles on my 07 700 and it still runs strong. I am updating the suspension and track as we speak. The 07 spindles and shocks are not the best but as everything is relative it could be worse. The 700 IQ RMK is without a doubt the best all around mountain sled platform there is. Tweak it and ride it hard.

:beer;;)

Front end changed in 09. Spindles improved in 08. Rear taillight changed in 08 (so that it wasn't dangling off of the seat like in 07). Updates were taking care of from 07 to 08 (fuel line, chaincase, mapping). There is very little weight difference.

I would jump all over an 07 if you got a good price for it. The black hoods in 07 were some of the best looking sleds for the Dragons IMO. Just change the spindles and do the Fire n Ice taillight relocation kit ($50). You can even do the plastic change to the 09 sled styles for a decent price.

Here is my 07, I wish I still had it for my GF and backup sled:

Holtz spindles helped my 07 d7 steer alot easier on hard snow. The tank/seat combo on an 07 was changed in 08. The track has been changed slightly from 07-09. Trimming the end of the track nibs would stiffen up the series 5.0 track and let it bite better, on a 07. Alot had trouble with the 07 walker shocks, not having enough nitrogen press. A dealer could recharge for you pretty cheap if you had them removed.

The track for 08 and newer is much better, there is 19% more lugs and this does make a difference in deep powder.

07 dragon

i can get the sled for 4300.00 and i haven't seen anything else close in price, but it does have 3500 miles on it. i figured throw new pistons in and a turbo and it should be a good sled

I'd be all over it if it were close to me, put on 3k miles on my '07 600 all last season and it still runs like it had 190 miles when I bought it a little over a year ago. A few upgrades and you'll be right there with the new sleds. Heck, turbo like you say and you'll be ahead of them.

I'd spend the money and rebuild the top end. Check out the primary too. I went through bushings on my primary twice in 2500 miles. $4300 sounds good depending on the condition.
