Diesel mileage...

Whats funny is i'm sure there is a video out there were the ram went farther and another one were the chevy went farther.

It will be interesting to see how this motor holds, up, if it has the reliability, economy and power like their advertising the other two are going to have to step it up.

Mileage is all good, but one of the biggest assets Ford will have with this engine is *not* having to argue and fight with a separate engine manufacturer over warranty issues....

Time will tell how things work out.

I sure would like to know if that Ram was broken in at 12000+ km. Mine goes at least 10% farther on the same fuel now as than it did when new. My 08 GMC never really got any better after break in??

Who knows.... I'm sure they bent the rules as far as possible in their favor.

For what it's worth the 2010's and 2011's use completely different emission controls (urea injection on the 2011's) and the older style DPF's are known to be very hard on fuel.

just lightly having your foot on the brake pedal (keeping converter from locking up) would be enough to drastically change mileage..thats the hard thing with test..really hard to prove how equal they are....but hopefully fords new motor is better, cause it will make the others make theirs better as well...

If that 6.7 proves itself over the next severale years the way the D-max has, I'll probably buy a Ford for my next truck as soon as I win the lottery so I can afford it.

There's a big difference in Summer and winter fuel blends, My cummins gets a lot better milage in the summer months.

Not sure about the Fords Ecm, but I wired up a converter lock up switch for less then $3 bucks on my truck.

yeah nobody is figuring in the urea solution as an added cost. it might get 20 mpg on diesel, but what is the urea gonna cost you? and I think you have to go to the stealership to get it, so im sure it wont be cheap

I've heard Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) is $15 per gallon from Ford, 5 gallons needed to fill up the truck. No one has real world numbers on the range between fill up's on DEF, but I've been hearing 7500 miles.

By the way mine gets 22hyway 17/19 city making 450hp and its a 12 valve a 97 dodge 1 ton 5 speed

Mine only gets 12 MPG at best with the propane injection on... but I can still get close to 1600 km per tank.
