Did I miss the Gold Creek memo

i would think people would have more commen sense about stuff like this. trying toback up a 27' trailer Vs a 10' trailer the 10' footer is going to be way easyer than the other so why he started to come down the hill IDK people just need to think before they do. i have had this problem in a parking lot

Disagree. If I got to pick, I would rather back up the 27' than a 10' if 2 trucks with trailers both needed backing up. I'm surprised someone would even complain about it. I'd be more upset with fuel prices.

I'm going to ask my wife if she gets upset when she backs my jet-sled down the launch at the boat ramp in between others at double stall launches while they fumble getting their boats ready.

VALID POINT!
HOWEVER I USUALLY WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO THROW MINE IN REVERSE AND BACK OUT OF SOMEONES WAY, I DONT THINK HALF THE PEOPLE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO AT TIMES. A LITTLE GRIPING WHILE BACKING ON MAY PART IS EASIER THAN HELPING THEM RECOVER THEIRS.

i think, a better complaint for this thread would be the dang snowshoers who think they own the joint. they park like jerks barely giving room sometimes to load your sled.. they don't think about it. I have encountered them on the road as well with them in there suburu assuming i should be backing up when they could easily pull aside.. i also have seen them flying up and down the road right next to us while we gear up and unload.. jerks! :baby:

derail..

I have had that happen more times with other sledders....who DO know better.

might be a little off topic but why would you squezze your boat and trailer between two boats on a double launch stall? i understand there are idiots at the boat launch (trust me) but you only make it worse when you force the situation...there is a reason why there are only two launch pads in a double stall IDK just seems rude to do that just my .02

if i try to back my 10' 2 place behind my crewcab long box ford, we would still be there,,,,:face-icon-small-ton My 25 footer on the other hand, how fast you want to go.

Not picking side just some real world experience.

I agree completely.. should try it with my old 4x8 single place. That thing would jack knife in a heart beat.. Didn't help with my liberty either.

Long trailers are much easier to back up than shorter ones. Been my experience as well, been pulling many different trailers and trucks in past...

Agreed!

A buddy of mine drives Cummins with a 28 footer for quads. When we went to out the other day he towed my sleds on my trailer. He took 30 minutes to back my 10' by 10' trailer back into its spot at my house. At one point I even asked if he needed a hand or wanted me to do it. He backs his trailer fine but actual skill is required when you get into those "tiny little 2 places"....

My question would be what were you doing in the road that you saw him sitting there for a minute....were you unloading? If so, I would have driven down just the same and been pissed that you were unloading in the road/turn around.

You should have shot a couple of rounds over his head. He would have got out of your way. Gunfire is the universal language for "get the f*&k out of the road!"

i would 10000000000000% agree with you. I have had a snow shoer park 1 foot behind me and another in fron of me and i was at a point were there was almost no way i was gonna get out so i had to leave a little suprise on the front and back of there car. :face-icon-small-hap

Relax dude. The Port doesn't have a problem with it. There is zero forcing. It actually makes for 1 less truck and boat taking up valuable launch time. The places she does it at have a football field worth of space in between the two. If you fish, then you should know the places I am talking about. I would never "force the issue"

She backs me down, I start the Main, she reverses the truck which pushes me off and pulls the truck and trailer out while 2 trucks with boats who have already been there for 15 minutes transferring their "whatever" look over in amazement and compliment me for having such an awesome wife and how cool it was that we were only in the launch for a minute. Other times it happens so quick, they don't even notice.

I would contend that the people transferring gear, coolers, booze, rods, and spending 15-20 minutes in the launch while prepared people are waiting is rude.

i understand what your talking about now, i thought you were talking about how you do it at say the Lake Sammamish, trust me i agree with you about the loading stuff into the boat, i dont get it especally when waiting in line for more than 15-20mins to even launch you can have everything loaded up and ready to rock and roll
