Definitely BNG's for 23, Frog Doo still behind!!!

You will never get them to admit anything. 16 wide climbs good but the wider it is the harder to get on edge. Hence tmotion and flex edge which creates other issues i some but not all area's. They also have 34 inch front end to compensate. Doos were always heavier but rode lighter but you were comparing 39 to their 36. I don't think their chassis is crap at all. It was too wide and they narrowed it up. Only problem i see now is the searching front end. They ride better than anything. Motor seems smoother. Definitely not as easy to work on. If you don't want t motion get an expert. If you want it you can get it. If you want a 15 wide you can get a lynx. That is what i call covering everyone. Let's be honest, 20 or 30 pounds doesn't get you somewhere somebody else can't get anymore. More of a talking point. power is going to be in the mix. If you have to pack fuel they have all sorts of options. Even a 4 gallon jug. My kaos boost is awesome but i would still like to try a shredder.

People spend thousands to lighten there sleds, but 20-30 lbs don't matter??. I know in some situations it don't, but I would rather start lighter and shave from there. They have had a 34" ski stance, but the body work was to wide they narrowed some still wider than poo. My point is they've had 5-6 yrs to come out with a new platform and in my opinion they under delivered. There gauge doesn't do what poo does
They are heavier
They don't have a belt drive
Less hp
They are wider (except ski stance)
These are facts, I have to laugh at the sw article that it's a game changer. I guess it changed the game in the looks department because it's fuglly!!

Which is why I stated first to go, definitely not only. But,
Rider forward by definition makes it a bit difficult to defend lawndart characteristics.

I wouldn't say game changer just awesome. I don't get all googly eyed over belt drives. They are not the huge difference everybody thinks or from years ago when shafts were solid and so forth but People still say wait till that thing breaks in and it's really going to run. Sugar water.
Imo you buy a poo for what they are and you buy a doo for what they are. Don't try to make one into the other. Both good sleds. The days of the rotaris or putting a cummins in a ford are over.

The frogger has some nice improvements and it's unnecessarily ugly. I'm sure we can all agree on that. Does Polaris need to put out something greater than the 2022 models to hang with frogger? Definitely does not appear so.

Like Terry said - it's really to the point where they are all good machines and are out-performing riders' abilities. So then it really come down to your preference....and whether than preference is how they feel, certain features, how they look, dealer location/loyalty, etc, etc. It's like a GM truck vs Ford, or a KTM 450 vs Yamaha ...ya in some years one did this or that better than the other, or one had a crappy motor or transmission. But in the end they both sell and no one is having a stand-out winner over the other or putting anyone out of business any time soon (well besides Arctic Cat, of course).

The scaling back of warranty is likely just collateral damage in the rec (and auto) industry-wide incentive rollbacks. They are selling everything and then some regardless of incentives, so they are all just maximizing profits. Sucks for the consumers, but I guess on the manufacturer end it's "make hay while the sun is shining"

How quickly you forget that most of the innovations that you enjoy were brought to market by Ski-doo
The First 2 stroke turbo
Short tunnel
Removable snow flap
LINQ
Semi direct/ direct injection/ boost injectors
Electric reverse
Electric oil injection.
Rider forward chassis
I’m sure there are many more some must have patients such as shot start and keyed teathers. Oscar Wilde said “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”. Polaris has a very nice sled right now. I still trust Skidoo more and I’m willing to make very small sacrifices in exchange for the reliability. My point is that competition drives innovation and it’s a good time to be a snowmobiler!

Bit selective there ehhh ...
Loads of 2s turbo kits before doo / poo ... First oem to offer factory turbo fair enough....
SDI / DI borrowed from other oems ...
Oil injection was Yamaha...
Shot is borrowed / adapted from other applications but we'll placed..
Rider fwd - my 1990 sno sports were rider forward ....
Cat had short tunnel before doo ....

Suprised that they didn't co-opt flickable in the release campaign ...

Doo has had some winners, and losers. BRP redefined sleds with the Rev. They have also been on the receiving end of their fair share of settled patent infringements in sleds, too - hint - electronic reverse was given to Poo and AC for a reason - multiple patent infringement settlements. Val Simmons did very well courtesy of BRP. Both poo and SD got drilled for fuel injection IP theft. DI was bought from Evinrude. Skis, which has some of the toughest to crack IP in the biz, are another example - you see grippers on Summits, but never SD skis on cats or RMKs. Bottom line - they all have had their share of great innovations, big time misses, and ill-gotten IP. Until Textron, AC had done the most innovation with the least resources. Make sure you can touch the stirrups if you're gonna ride that high horse. It gets real uncomfortable, fast.

The only thing that puts poo ahead is their guage and ease of working on them. The rest is preference. I think they covered everybody. If you look at electric start poo they probably aren't that far off. You do have to pull the rope once which sucks. Doo rides better than anything and the lynx is way above that. The 15 wide will be really fun. They fixed a bunch of stuff and bet they're awesome. They are never going to be as light or narrow as poo but that doesn't make them bad. Also on fuel you don't see a million threads on how to pack fuel for their sleds like you do on the boost. Doo accessories are awesome.
Doo will always handle funny until they get the rotating mass of the secondary clutch lower. Having it above the motor is a crucial design flaw and the biggest impact on the difference in performance. It’s disappointing they haven’t changed that as their motor is really good. I picked up a 21 pro last spring coming off a ‘19 doo and the difference is crazy, especially in crap snow in the trees when fighting to hold a line. It’s not all t motion sucking.. That high rotating mass wants to be upright really bad, that’s the reason for the “hunting” front end on the doo

I’m stoked to see if poo changes anything else for ‘23, but in all likelihood I’ll look for a ‘22 that someone backed out of to avoid the snowcheck ****show. No way I’d go in on a new poo motor first year if they go 900.

I guess everyone is insulated from the supply chain issues and the one thousand different color, bars, track, & chassis expectations will remain or who shares the opinion of our forum experts that the ‘22 Is nothing but a Danforth.

Can’t wait for the woke complaints when Polaris ‘23 is released.

Rwhateverthefthatsays,

I’m a cat guy, but just here razzing and learning and mostly just browse recent posts for kicks while waiting for my girls under every imaginable circumstance.

Am I good to hang or unworthy?
Just be cool and you can slide. Friendly ribbing gets out of hand quickly. I think a lot of people have gotten tired of the brand bashing with how much sleds cost these days. Not like the late 90's early 2000's when sleds creeped up to $9k top of the line but decent sleds could be attained for $5-7k. With the current state of things I hope all 5 survive after these supply issues catch up.

If conflict breaks out in the Baltics or Taiwan this year, a lot of people are going to be wishing they didn't cancel the 2022's for snow check of 2023's.
