Deep Powder Riding

Hey guys, just curious, what is the deepest snow you have ridden in? My record is 4ft of fluff. What about you guys? Stories,Pic,Vids,Second hand accounts. Thanks in advace, and rember "Pray for snow"

I've had a few 4-6ft days. I remember one day in particular back home in Alaska. Some buddies and myself went to ride turnagain and we turned off the highway to go into the parking lot and half the lot wasn't plowed yet and guys were getting stuck in the lot. I remember climbing over the berm while my sled was warming up just to look down into the area and out of 20 riders probably 15 were stuck. It was hilarious. Then some guy with a big ol lifted desiel truck tried to mob the part of the parking lot that wasn't plowed and he got stuck in his truck along with like 4 other guys that tried it after him. Definatly a great day.

last year me and some buddies went up southfork here and it was -10 out first big snow of the year we got up there a ways my cousin bailed off the side with his 174 skidoo xrs instantly stuck as soon as he bailed off all we could see was the top of his helmet it was deep

Rode in Stewart, BC during a pretty good storm. Estimates on the hill were 5-7' of fresh in 3 days, the road out of town was closed for 4-5 days.

It's interesting to be full throttle, going 1 MPH, your handlebars pushing snow and not being able to hear your sled. My back hurt like hell that night but I'd like to do it again someday.

Here's a pic of the over night accumulation at sea level.

I have had two 5' plus storms. Once last year, and another years ago. Last year, my turbo was broke again, so I was on my 600:eek: could not go on flat ground without a track. Once I hit some where I could go down hill, it was full throttle down hill. Unfreakinreal!

I missed that day too. I think we went a day or two after the storm didn't we? It was still like 3 ft then.

We left the trailer one day with 6 ft of fresh. It snowed so hard while we were riding we couldn't get back and had to spend the night. None of the sleds would run. If you could get one on top of the snow it would go about 100 feet before it was deep enough to loose air and stall. Once you stalled you had to hurry and jump on the seat and hold your hands up so your buddies knew where you were. It was insane. We figure we had over 12 feet. By noon the next morning it had settled enough we got the T-Yammi's out. Parking lot was full of S&R and a lot of worried wives, family, and friends. Spent the rest of the day making trail for smaller sleds to get out. It was almost midnight before we got everyone back to the parking lot. It was amazing how fast the snow settled. The next day it was still really deep, but nothing like the previous two days. It went from impossible to ride to extremely fun to ride over night.
