Dealer service - dirty sled

Just a little rant. Thought I would try a new dealer as I was not happy with my local one. Same thing at this one, maybe its just me..........
Just to frame this, I HATE taking my sled in for anything, always do my own work and I'm very particular with my stuff. I had to take in my 09 Dragon for the engine recall so I reluctantly did. Two day turnaround, happy with that, but here's my problem. Took my sled in there in pristine condition, spotlessly clean. Took my cover and installed it when I dropped off the sled last Saturday to try and keep it that way. Picked up the sled on Tuesday and it is absolutely filthy. Looked like it sat in a dust storm for a week. Worse yet the clowns put my cover back on, but put it on the dirty sled. Now the cover is gross on the inside, the sled is a mess, small scratches everywhere. I mentioned it to the dealer they look at me like I have two heads, obviouosly don't value the customers stuff much. Just a commodity to them I guess.
Just don't get it, you would think they could at least attempt to send it away the same way they got it?? Same thing happened at the other dealer I used to use.
Customer service + Polaris dealers = FAIL!

not much diffrent here in Mn dont goto my local dealer for that reason--funny thing is when the sled new its either in the showroom or a storage building but when its in for service it sits in a dirt lot....mmmm dealers take note....

Same I BV Colorado. If I owned a dealership with or without this economy, customers come first and would be grateful for their business.

I deal with Harely dealers also. Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs thinks that you are lucky to have them. Outpost in Pueblo is a diffrent story. I will try Big D in Woodland Park to see how they are. Dont get it with dealers...

I had the same issue here once. Since I said something the dealer has stored my sled inside when I bring it in for work to be done

Same problem here.

I specifically schedule all work for a Monday or Tuesday. That way I can pick it up in the same week.

I specifically tell them I don't want it sitting outside. ( I never store my stuff outside so I don't expect it to be out side at the dealer).

I get the run around "OK, we will keep it stored inside at night".

Guess what take a little evening drive and sure enough it is outside. Called the next day threw a fit and now it gets stored inside.

I agree 100%. They should treat the customers equipment like gold. But man they sure don't.

come to tri city polaris in center ville utah hahah..
they always return your machine freshly washed..

sorry to hear about your baby.

maybe leave cover at home next time. covers due more harm then good. i think all dealer maybe the same way. there not gonna store your sled on the showroom floor for ya.

In this case I took the cover because I new it was going to be outside, at least overnight anyway. Thought it might keep it clean until they took it in the shop. Dropped it off Saturday, they were closed Sunday and they had it done on Tuesday. I can't understand how it would possibly get that dirty in the short time it was there. Almost like they took the cover off the moment I drove away and did laps around it in the yard with a quad. You think they would have been smart enough to at least leave the cover off if it was that dirty. Just very disappointing is all. Won't be back there again I know that for sure. Rant over.

had the same problem here. I picked up my sled form the dealer one time and there was a major boot print right on my seat...........I freaked. Needless to say I do all my own stuff now.

The other thing I dont like is they use a forklift to unload and load sleds off your trailer and move them around..........torques on the belly pan, snow deflector and exhaust pipe....just not my cup of tea.

One time a dealer sold me bent needles......couldnt believe it.

i took my to the dealer to get service work done to it right after i got the tunnel polished. he looked at the sled (didn't do anything to it) took a bunch of bolts out and didn't put them back in, then put it on the show room floor to let everybody and there dog climb on it and scratch the tunnel all up. just b/c i couldn't get there to pick it when he was done with it.

I work in the auto repair industry in an independant shop, and i know if i pulled a stunt like that with a customers car, my nuts would be in a wringer, so to speak. I've never delt with a sled dealer as far as repairs go, but there sure seem to be a lot of dealers out there that don't really care about your stuff.

they usually have kids working in the back who have no idea what it takes to buy a 10k+ toy, thank god i'm a mechanic and don't have to take mine in. have a deal with my dealer, if it needs work they send me the parts and i fix it myslef...

Ditto on the excellent care and service received from Tri City Performance in Centerville, UT. Alway top notch, done right and in a timely manner. Sleds always come back to me spotless and ready to go!

I had the same problem last year also, ACTION MOTORSPORTS in Mandan, ND.

My sled is always stored inside unless we are on a trip. I take it in to have some minor stuff worked on when I was out of town and needing it back.

I get back from out of town hoping the sled is done and ready to ride for the weekend, only to find the sled is sitting out behind the shop covered in MUD (spring and snow was melting). I had both the mechanic who put it out back AND the owner of the place there to see the sled, made them hand wash it before I took it anywhere.

Only the start of the problems there (Trying to charge me $70 for a just a factory tether, 2 months of ordering brake lines before I finally went elsewhere, crazy markups, and laughed when I was trying to buy a sled there, their personal one they used for 2 years that they BEAT UP bad and could tell mods galore were pulled off with tweaked tunnel and every plastic for more than new anywhere else)

I do all my own work now and at least I know it is done right and know how the sled is treated..

Anybody remember the post where the sled was at the dealer and they fired it up throttle was stuck WFO and it blew outta there building across the lot and ended up running up into a chainlink. Pics were posted. I guess a little dirt wouldnt of been bad for that fellow.

Maybe these dealers thought you guys ride your sleds not sit at home polishing them all winter.

Just kidding...All dealers should treat their customers like TriCity. Would take less than 5 mintues to clean up the sled after service and the customer satisfaction would be priceless.

Dealers take note!

Lmao, himark I'll have to see if I can find pics from 3 years ago. Was putting my sled away again after doing some polishing and mod work into the garage from the shop, and had the throttle stick WFO. Burned rubber all the way across the concrete into the not opened yet garage door where it proceeded to "light it up" till I hit the kill switch.

Man I was pissed, but thought it was funny chit at the same time, that stupid burnout mark stayed all summer, had to exlpain why I had ONE 15 inch burnout and door damage several times.
