Day trip from Calgary

I'm trying to find some people to go on a day trip from Calgary Jan. 9 or 10. Leave early morning and come back same day after the ride. I've just got room for my sled in my truck. I was thinking about going to Golden but I don't know the area out there. Another option would be Crowsnest Pass. If your interested in coming out for a ride just PM me or if your a group that doesn't mind a straggler for a day and are heading out this weekend let me know.

Hi Sledhead,
I am going with another friend on a ride down to the Crowsnest Pass on Saturday. We plan on leaving early and putting in a full day ride down there. We know the area fairly well and will make sure it is a fun filled day.
For me this is kind of a test and tune day on my body as I had a bit of an accident on the Christmas holidays in BC.
I came off my sled a the end of a climb and ended up using my head for brakes to slow my descent from the top,so for me it is a see if my head stays attached ride.
Give me a PM if interested,we could all load our machines in my heated enclosed trailer and split the costs to save some money.Lots of room in my truck for three of us.

Cheers,
Dave

there is a calgary snowmobile club ride this weekend in the Crowsnest. Meet at the tin shack around 9:00

this would be a good place to meet people that you can ride with.

On which day is this on the weekend,or is it both.

Crowsnest on Sat.

I'm definately in for Crowsnest this Saturday. Hopefully get to meet some people to do more trips with. I just heard tonight that castle mountain got 20cm of fresh snow so that can only mean good things for us.
If you still got room in your rig for the trip down Dave I'd be interested in sharing costs. If not no worries I'll just load up in my truck and make the drive. I was hoping someone could shoot me some directions or a link to a map of how to get there and how much travel time to allow.
Do I need to be a CSC member for the ride? I'm interested in joining anyway.
:D

joining the calgary sled club is a no brainer because of the work they do in keeping our areas open. The chance to go on rides is a huge bonus.

Directions - take 22 south to #3. Turn west and go through Crowsnest into BC. Cross the railway tracks and take an immediate left (these are the only railway tracks on highway 3 and it is in the middle of a construction site, just before an old iron bridge, can't miss it).

once heading south on Corbin road, you will see two staging areas on your right side- the yellow gates and the tin shack. The second one is the tin shack and that is where the club is meeting. There will be lots of vehicles so it is very easy to find.

Allow 3.5 hours from Calgary to get there to be safe. Call the club and tell them you are joining. See if anyone has an extra spot in their trailer.

Time to try again

Unfortunately I didn't make it out this last time. But I've still only ridin once this year and thats just pathetic, I definately need to revive myself and get out for a ride. I work shift work so its usually easier for me to ride during the week. I'd like to head out sometime in the next 2 weeks can't go Sunday or weekend after this one. Those are my days off work and if anybodies looking to get out for a ride let me know and we'll see if we can arrange something.
