Cvt snow bike

Make sure they send me a check for all the R&D ive been doing!

things are only going to get better with this project. Lots of interest from viewers and an 800R is not far away.
they flat out stole an auxiliary intake design I posted up on dootalk. it magically showed up on the '09 RS race sled. exact concept, slight design variation.

expect nothing unless you've applied for patent :face-icon-small-fro

I build the first 136 SX kit Changed Geometry explained to TS how well it worked next year they tried it and one year later ( what I was told will void my warrantee and is not save to do) was available as a spring order special.
Still waiting for my cheque or perks as well:face-icon-small-win Sometimes its just nice to see you had a valid designs Idea . If id cry over any mod I did that ended up standard for later models I would lead a sad life.

I will be watching the 800R build for sure. I have a lowmile xp that I don't even enjoy riding anymore. And it isn't worth squat. Snowbikes have a funny way of ruining snowmobiling for a lot of us. 160 HP would be ridiculous. Only question I have is how wide is it right behind your feet?

In Jerry Seinfeld voice from "The Script" episode "I think you may have something here"

This is defiantly a game changer

The only issue I see with this project is this it's really going to make the up and coming bike and track manufacturers take a second look at what there doing. I think this idea is the future and the separate track and bike idea although works pretty good doesn't even come close to something like this. All the separate track designs are basically the same principle just some built with allot more care than others. The first time I put my timberland on my bike I kept thinking I was missing something because ( how could something be so primitive). I just seen so many friction losses I was wondering how the bike was going to power it. Mind you some of the new designs have done the best they can to overcome that.
I really think that once a design like this comes to development that the seperate tracks are going to be scrap iron overnight.
I'm surprised Polaris bought Timbersled. Very risky business venture id say in a sport that's changing and evolving so fast, it's a risky move to buy the first prototype put out there.
Great move by the original TS manufactures to find a buyer. Commend them for that.
But this sport is going to need to move into something like this new build to really take off.
This is just my opinion of course after riding TS for the past 2 years. I'm on the sidelines for now until something like this comes out.
I know you can make turbos and big bores and have some fun, but the average guy doesn't have 25000 dollars for a new bike, a kit, a turbo, and then risk the fact that your running the bike to death in the middle of the mountains where it's along walk back to the truck and then another recovery day to pick the thing up and then hope someone can rebuild it for you that knows what there doing without taking a second mortgage out on your house to pay them.
Polaris has been very aggressive in so many ways the last few years, I think something like this will be coming from them sooner than we think.

Nice build by the way. I am betting there are a lot of snowbike haters starting to rethink them after seeing this.

I will be making one of these as well as soon as the snow melts for next year
800R
Honda aluminum frame
154" track 12.5" wide

After seeing the vids of this there is no other way to go. I forsee wrecked sleds going up in value as all the bike guys scramble for donors!

I am thinking AL crf45 frame I have in my shop + crashed polaris rush 600 or 800 might be a good combo, I cant wait for swappin season!!

Would really like to see more photos of the engine and exhaust placement/layout. Went hunting on some the other links posted and found some pics (posted them here), but it only left me wanting to see more. Are you intentionally keeping this a secret or just no time to post more details?

Awesome build. I've been seriously looking into a snowbike myself! But the more I research, the more I realize it's unrealistic to make my bike a good hare scrambler in the summer and snowbike in the winter.

Combine that with the cost of these kits and the fact that in a year or 2 I think a ground up factory snowbike will be on market.

This thread just re-enforces my thoughts. I want to see more of this beast!

Would is be possible to install the engine backwards and reverse it's rotation? Pipe straight out the back and intake up front.

How is the twist throttle effort pulling 800r carbs?
My 09 xp had the stiffest throttle of any sled i've ridden.
They are easy to find wrecked though. :)

I think a welded chromoly frame could have substantial strength vs weight savings over welded (non post heat treated) aluminum.

I have thought about this, there are a few small problems.
I am using a chaincase and it is not fitting to mount it on the opposite side.
The helix would need to be custom reverse cut as the RER helix has a short reverse ramp and a full length forward ramp

The clutch bolt can be spun out if the clutch moves on the crank

Water pump would have to be removed and an electric pump used

In the end it is just not worth the effort when making the pipe is fairly easy.

This is by far the best thing I have seen in a while. :) Excellent work on the bike. I think I might need to start a similar project for the family, maybe a 600 liberty and a z125 frame.... 136 track.... :)

Thanks so much. :)

Main problem would be pistons leaning to exhaust side of the cylinder.
The reason why there are many small intake ports and one big exhaus port is that the piston needs enough support to slide down under power stroke.
It would work with reverse rotation for some time but not long.

awsome build. this is what i thought of when i heard polaris bought timbersled. a cvt polaris bike that is affordable. game changer.

What about cats laid down motors?

Why couldn't cats laid down motors work in this design?
Intake would be in the front and exhaust could easily be changed to go under the seat out the back.
It's just a thought I have.
Maybe there's not enough room under the seat?
160 HP CVT snow bike would make me take one for a ride.
