custom mountain twin 174's

hehe that's pretty neat you are obviously a skilled fabricator and have quite a unique imagination.....not exactly what I would build but pretty cool nonetheless lol!
2 statements I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around though. "It is easy to sidehill"?? and "it weighs 550lbs wet" Is that really true?
I'm guessing the reason you went with 2 10" wide cut down tracks instead of a single 20" wide track was to get taller paddles?

I would bet yes its weighs that much. Tundra's are barely there to begin with, looks like this is motor and track mainly. They aren't built as stout as some other sleds for sure, which is where you could save some weight. Look at the front end in the pics, there is only a shock, steering arm and lower a-arm on these sleds. There is almost no seat on this sled as well. The bulkheads are light too. Again, not something that you would want to ditchbang on or drop a big cornice with, but for plugging around the hills and floating along, it would be perfect.

Great innovation! Props to the creator!

It's not the first time I saw a tundra modded into a mountain sled, I was In blue river BC last winter and there was a guy with a tundra streched to 163 with a 800 in it I can't remember if it was the R or the HO, but the owner claimed it was alot lighter than a xp, and that sled would climb!!

Both of the owners of these sleds ride together actually.. This is not the first creations he made either.. His last one was featured in snowest magazine a few years back. Old wedge chassis with a 500 in it i believe. They seem to work real good! :beer;

I wondered where that thing went. I saw it at Neil's a few times. If I remember correct you had to figure out how to spin the engine backwards right??

Oh, yeah look at that, the driven is in front of the motor. He would have to spin the motor backwards. Or i guess in reverse all the time.

LOL thats just fu@#$%ckin wrong!!! Just about as bad as the dirtbike in "nosecondchances" avatar. Excellent job on the mod skills tho. Whats it like trying to carve with that "thang"? I think you should name it something like "Duhbble Thang"

Great fabricating skills. I wonder what supports the inside of the two tracks as there is no rail or clips. Did you contact Camoplast to see if they could have made you a 174 X 20. Seems they have lots of different track options now with all the track kits etc for 4 wheelers etc. Might not have been much more than 2 tracks.

I dont care who you are that is some impressive creativity.

At last all you need is a big block chevy and you will be in a hall of fame somewhere.

I have always been intrested in a wide track looked at a AC Bearcat once, it was a short lived intrest.

Nice work, but please post a pic when its asse deep in snow please ?

uuuuhhhh??? not sure how to take that. I guess you have never seen a hillclimb bike before?

She may not be all shiny and new.....but with her ZX Ninja motor on NOS, I'll stack her up against any dirtbike off the showroom floor.

he's got the tracks, yes two seperate tracks on all the bogie wheel and the drive nubs on the inside keep the back section of the track from coming off..and plenty of track tension.

What's that thing like to steer while climbing WFO, looks like skis would be pretty far off the snow with that short wheelbase?
