Crystal Springs Sno-Park / Injunction for CLOSURE!!!!

Love the Dog sledders!

I am a dog lover, have one of my own. It sure makes me feel good to hear a non-motorized user agree with us. I think it all comes down to respect. Respect the land owners as you would like to be respected. I can see two sides to this also. I dont like lawers and government involvement. I think this could have or should have been taken care of at the county level. A resolution that both sides can agree on cant be that hard. Our country has this problem all the way to Wa. DC. Good Luck, I hope for our sake this gets resolved in a good way. A few bad apples always ruin it for the rest of us. -00's

I have been trying to stay out of this and hope to continue to do so, but I think that you guys would have some more compassion if you were all aware of the lies and abuse these people have suffered at the hands of State Parks and especially the USFS in that area.

In exchange for not plowing the 5400 road, the USFS gave the residents a private parking area and at one time promised to build storage buildings in the lot for the residents to use as garages....then new ranger shows up and no buildings....OK they can live with just a secure private lot....new ranger shows up now they are going to lease that lot to the DOT for 20 years to store road debris from I90 project in exchange for revamping the snopark and homeowners are told they will no longer have a place to park and if the snopark is full when they come to their homes they are out of luck and can't park, including those that live there full time....not to mention the letter they have from one of the rangers offering to plow 5400 road and move the snopark traffic out of a different exit etc.

When many of these people bought in the area, they were fed a large pile of BS by the State and USFS and are just tired of being lied to and having their property and homes disregarded by the agencies and want some attention given to their problems....they have tried for several years to "work" with the agencies on these problems and have gotten nowhere on it.

A few Valid Points Monty - But you're only telling PART of the story!!!

This is such an easy thing to fix, except the gov't is involved. Letting the homeowners plow the road to the parking lot that was already used seems like a no brainer. I wouldn't even care if they plowed a lane down the road to the fire station as long as there is a way on snow to get past that spot. But the minute he sued to close the park down he made me his enemy. I have wanted to stop and "talk" to him since this thing started. Skin up there on my skis of course. I have seen some shady characters in that sno park, I wouldn't want them after me for shutting down that area.
