Crystal Springs Sno-Park / Injunction for CLOSURE!!!!

If this "tool" gets away with this, then this will set precedent for others to follow, next Kachess, Elk Heights, Woods Steele, etc. any snopark with nearby residence is endangered if this is allowed. Show up in numbers and be respectful, we can't afford to blow this one.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but this is a multi-user site. Having never been there or used it, it would essentially be an injunction that would shut down the park to not only us snowmobilers, but also x-country skiers, snowshoer's, familys that play in the snow etc. I'm seeing this as a huge impact to ALL users...

We should contact the other winter recreation parties that use the snowpark to let them know what is going on and that this could potentually affect them as well.

He has to have forgotten to cross all of his T's somewhere. Land use permit, snowmobile tags. Where can he operate that ATV. All roads in that area are closed to unlicensed vehicles. Environmental impact for any scoops of dirt in his bobcat? Proper documented tags on the taxidermy mounts?

Respect his property, but it ends @ the property line. He cannot be an angel.

First off I in no way support these actions!
It is my understanding from other home owners in that area, that this has been an ongoing issue for years. They have been trying to get this to be a dual use road since their private parking lot got closed down(south end of Crystal Springs). This particular land owner has been trying to get something to happen for years, and the forest service nor the parks dept, will help him figure that out(blaming each other). I also know that he is a snowmobiler himself. I think if it was a dual use road(snowmobiles and cars) could everyone happy. Everytime I drive to salmon la sac it seems like it works fine there, and is a simple solution for sledders with cabins. I'm not sure why more cabin areas don't have these kind of shared roads? Also a couple years ago these people had a road plowed behind caboose cabin to the fire station that was working just fine for them and the fire dept. I believe very few of us even knew it was there. I'm sure there is an easy solution to this problem that will make everyone happy. Again I in no way support lawsuit!(it sucks!)
Hope this helps..

parking lot plowing cuts!

did you here the parks cut 5000 off the parking lot plowing budget yr for sum reson they only cut it from the snow mobilers parking lots not from all the lots fairly. all the other lots got the same as last yr snow showers cross country and dog sledding parking lots all got the full amount. wounder how much they cut off the budget of are grooming?

Due to lack of funds in our Motorized budget

We took nearly a 20% cut across the board this year in our Snowmobile budget due entirely to lack of funds in our system. We had a lot less snowmobiles registered last year and that took a big toll on our budget, Nobody stole it, Plowing, grooming ect all took big cuts because of lack of funds. We pay to play and definately need to either raise our license fee's or Pay for our snow park permits instead of getting them for free, The cross country skiers raised their own fee's over a year ago and although they took some flak up front they are very happy now and actually get to groom their ski trails more frequently,

Super. This was just the preliminary injunction request, so we need to keep on top of the case as it progresses. If anyone was there and knows what the schedule looks like, please post.

We all need to just follow the laws of the Sno-Park and not give this d***head any ammunition to use against us in the proceeding to follow. The mentionings in court were mostly the environmental, nuisance and trespass issues.
If we all just pack up all the garbage we generate, abide by the speed limits and stay on the trails he shouldn't be able to get any more ammunition. Also remember no fires allowed in the sno-park unless contained in a manufactured pit or containment.
