I went over to Utah this weekend with a couple of my buddies to ride and tune with the guys from OVS. Both of my buddies have OVS 1200 turbos and I have just finished my TM8 project.

Wow!, did Travis and Garr go out of their way to help us out. We had a few problems with the 1200s (stator....diamond drive). Why does stuff wait till yer on vaca to break? They helped us round up parts and opened their shop to us to use for the repairs.......crazy! Neat guys!

Now for the amazing part. I had bought a few things from them this summer to finish off my TM8. I was using a bunch of stuff left over from my last year's turbo project,(such as my turbo). I bought a quiet muffler and some other used stuff from them. My sled was doing a little weird kinda high speed thing that we couldn't quite put a finger on. These guys jumped in and helped me out just as if they had designed and sold me a full kit for my sled.

During the process an experimental turbo was installed on my M8. We went out to the test area and tired it out.........WOW! The next day we went for a ride with the gang and played around with the clutching, did some racing and overall had a great time. By the end of the day, the new turbo had proved it self over and over in side by side tests against the other TM8s . It was a keeper and is still on my sled.

Bottom line, Garr and Travis are crazy good at what the do, and crazy nice to dorks like me, and crazy amazing to their customers! It's crazy good to see folks like these guys!

I am new to a trubo this year. I have called Travis several times with questions that I am sure are pretty simple to him. He was great to talk to. Stayed on the phone until I had no more quetions. He never once tried to talk above me either always explaining thing so even I could understand them. Good dude for sure.

They are Awsome guys for sure.

My sled runs 10 times better and quieter thanks to them. Travis from the first time I walked into there shop has been more than happy to talk about any question that I have had until he was sure I understood the answer.

So what's the story with the stator???

One of the 1200s was having an intermittent shutdown problem. He had been experiencing it for a few weeks. Since he lives a state away, I didn't have an opportunity to really help check it out. When we were at Garr's, I didn't pay a lot of attention to how they determined what it was. I was playing around with other stuff at the time. It hasn't missed a beat since.

as tony said it was random, I hope it fixes it so far so good. Travis reflashed computer to give me a couple fuel options. Runs great, couldn't imagine riding anything else!

Did he reflash your PL box with a map that works better around 10psi? If so can you still turn it up to 15 with no problems?

dubbs, I can run it down to 7lbs now works just fine. never thought about a pump gas 1200! didnt have time to run it up to 18 but Travis said its fine.

I've had the same experience with them. They treat you like a sledder not an idiot I could not imagine going somewhere else for turbo sleds

Thanks guy's been busy in the shop and just want to say had a blast having you guy's out last weekend. Tony got the intercooler on the lp800 and she is running 20lbs of boost. Doug better watch out the end of FEB when we head for Tahoe, Garr is going to make the little 800 propane turbo gives Doug a run for his money.

Any info on the "experimental turbo"
surprised nobody else asked.. ? :)

Normally I have no problem letting ya know anything I try. These guys have been great to deal with and I will respect their request to keep it under wraps for a little while longer.

Travis? 20lbs are you nutz! Danged just when I thought I might have one of you handled, ya go and sneek in a dandy............LOL

JOhnmaster had his propane out here this weekend, fun to ride, and tuning seemed effortless. he went from WI to 12,500 feet & had it running great within a couple rips at the bottom of the hill, after that, all he did was TURN IT UP!

Got it up to 17, then saw the det sensor.

killer setup for sure. His made less power than my cutler with similar boost, but he was able to just keep turning it up, pretty cool!!!

Thats cool to hear. I was wondering about tuning for elev changes. Didn't he need to throw more clutch weight at it to turn it up efficiently? How was the sound with the new muffler?

Understandable, wasn't sure how big of secret it was. Sounded like a good one though.

Travis made a cooler for the propane now it goes over 20lbs, guess Garr is commin for me!!
That old timer better take his gerital!!

The new turbo is available in the Tial kit only. Tony just turn yours up it will run 20lbs with no problem. The lp800 turbo does have a intercooler installed on it know and that is why it is able to run 20lbs of boost and it makes more power at the lower boost levels than it did before with the intercooler. The sled is easy to tune at all boost levels and elevations. The big advantage is the $1.75 a gallon for fuel.

Trav why do you have to keep making everything better? I guess I best get back to work to pay for an intercooler!!! How much to add the intercooler to the LP?
