Nice picture. Cool to meet you two up there. Not a bad first ride for the year!

Summit seeker you get boost in that sled yet? Looks good

Naaaaaa... done with boost! Boost was fun but it took the challenge out of riding. It was lonely sitting at the top waiting for everyone else to catch up.

If I boost anything in the future it will be a snowbike!

Ya im still debating on it but it looks like the coq is getting hit hard with snow right now!

Went up to the coq yesterday and it was awesome! Went to superbowl first and was in powder coming right over the hood!
Best early season riding, and out of the four guys I was with nobody broke nothing! There are some rocks still out there, I was bucked off my sled once but that was pretty good for 4 hrs of riding!

There is about 4ft of snow in the alpine and it was snowing hard the whole time we were there! So I think the season has begun!!

No damage in our group! was some brown spraying out the back a few times. We did not go into some places for the lack of coverage but it was a good road ride for sure.

So are you guys talking about Britton Creek rest area on the Coquihalla? My dad and I stopped there on are way to Calgary last April for a robotics competition, my dad noticed that there is a snowmobiling area. Him and I are talking about heading up there one of these times. We are from Washington and I am wondering if I can get a little more info, like maps of trails, and what regulations, tabs or whatever we need for the sleds. From little information I have found it seems like a great place, it would only be a couple more minutes to go to Coquihalla than to Stevens.

Yes it is the britton creek rest area, there is a huge gravel parking lot just when u get off the exit u take a right and go over a cattle guard! Once they start grooming u can probably get a trail map from the hut where they collect money for use of the trails! Also they have cabins with a big map of the trails hung on wall!

So you guys don't have tabs/registration for sleds only a pay fee at the snow park? This seems like it would work better because than the money goes directly to groomed trails. Thanks for the info.

I stopped at the 0Km parking lot on my way across the coke this morning. It was a blustery -21.5c outside! The parking area has not been opened up yet, ie plowed. The FSR towards 10K has been plowed and had a small amount of plowed snow on the side.. It's thin, and icy.. Covered with 3" of fluff. It's not ideal conditions. There was still grasses poking through, as well as the obvious alders which were not covered yet.

I'll be sitting out this weekend and waiting for a bit more base. The ice layer was quite thick.. I hope it's only on certain exposures. It was definately in the flat open areas where the sun gets it.

I did see a few sled tracks, but not that many.

Rode yesterday

Similar to the previous posts, we rode henning yesterday. Mostly spearing bowl and some around lookout and peanut. Pretty deep but no base yet and lots of tree tops, rock tips and bushes poking through. One guy dinged a ski and I scraped the bottom of my sled breaking off a piece of plastic. The price you pay for early riding! Good to get out though. Another foot or two and it will be awesome....I mean terrible everyone stay home and wait till Feb when it is deep enough to ride...

your sled must be registered as well, although they don't always check for that, u pay in the parking lot at the collection hut. the fee goes to the local club to help maintain the area including groomer, parking lot, trails ,cabins, safety equip, etc, etc, etc. the area is very well marked definitely worth checking out.

groomers back on the mountain. track packed henning. the parking lot got pushed out. the mines are both shut down. we have our 10k road back!
now does anyone know anybody with a loader forsale/rent/lease? the club needs something to keep the parking lot open.
o ya everyone do a snow dance cause this weather sucks.
