Disorderly conduct would be a great starter, some community service hours. Somethin to get the point across you can't be an azz hat and not expect some reprecussions.

So he goes to court and get some Mormon judge, gets a misdemeanor, and maybe a fine, maybe community service, maybe counseling, and even a possibility of jail time. All that just because he was honking a horn in front of a polygamist's house that is already doing something illegal in the state of Utah?

WTF are you talking about "back then kids had shame"?

This sounds like good clean teenage fun and the cops were azzholes in my opinion..

Well that is great Eric, I say why not give out your address and see if we can arrange a horn honking party in the middle of the night during the work week then.

Why, it's only good clean teenage fun!

Quit sounding like a windowlicker!

What does that matter?
He is a minor goes on his juvy record which gets sealed. But lets see he should have thought about that before he did it. Its called the consequenses (sp?) for ones actions.
Is this concept to hard for you to grasp. You do some thing stupid and disprespectful to people you should be held accountable for it! Not a hard thing to grasp bud.

You just don't get it so there is no point in going back and forth with this. You have your view as I have mine. It seems people are on both sides of the fence with this one and we'll never agree. So lets just agree to disagree? :beer;

And yes, I understand the whole consequence thing completely. I have never been in trouble with the law except for speeding, have respect for anyone deserving of it, and can see the fun in a good kid's prank. No harm done, right? I guess I see it as being forgotten in a couple of weeks and not worth punishing someone so harshly over.

a $100 fine for disturbing the peace or disorderly conduct...........

I can see that being handed out, but that should just be a written citation and then show up in front of a judge. Let the punishment fit the crime.

How is honking a horn a crime or even worse... a hate crime? I will be scared to see what things are like in 20 years from now if people think honking a horn is a hate crime.

I am scared to see what happens in 5 years in general. More and more rights keep getting taken away and no one cares. Just let the police handle it all and be given no restrictions, they won't ever do anything wrong.......

What I really want to know is who the f*ck throws oranges at people?!

Seriously, oranges?

Not rocks or eggs or bricks or something, but freaking oranges?!?!

That's just plain weird.

Just plain weird as in two guys sitting in the middle of the street ar 11:00 at night blowing their horn and laughing hystericaly?

How many times has people come to honk at this house? From your post it sounded like a pretty regular occurance, and by more people than yourselves.

It sounds like a quiet neighborhood and pretty much crime free, so these cops arn't used to seeing anything too serious....if thats the case then something like this might just peg there reacto'meter....Especially if the cops are being called out of bed.

How many time have the cops responded and NOT caught anyone??? So you two sorry saps got to feel the wrath of all the call outs these cops have had to deal with and not found anyone.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if the cops themselves were Latter Day Saints and only 1-2 steps removed from polygamy themselves.

In 20 years or so, I could see someone's daughter from here at some polygimists house, and one of you sitting in jail for honking the horn outside and thinking, "damn, maybe I shouldn't have said that". :D

not a Highway btw. a road that in itself is only two or so miles long. I was saying I guess I cant complain too much because I was let off easy the second time. In fact I guess both times.

And i was just saying the only reason cops were here was because my friend was on probation. If you've ever been to the Mass City area of Michigan, you'd know what I'm talking about, there arent enough people here to have cops around 24/7.

Put yourself in my shoes, you have no way to go to work because your only 15, cant drive yet. are you gonna spend the money on a trail sticker just so you can ride a road (NOT a highway) for 2 miles to your place of work?

Secondly, you've got a pal that blows up his snowmobile on one of the poles lines...just so happens around here they can get pretty nasty. Again, you dont ride on trails at all so you dont have a trail sticker, but your friend needs help, are you gonna let him sit out on the pole line until the snow thaws?

Sounds like you need to purchase a trail sticker.......

If it were my house I send the kids out with the oranges and I would be wing'n rocks from the side of the house.

Having fun is one thing distrubing others is another.

You have no idea what that house has been going through. Fuss or sick kid finally gets to sleep after days of little to no sleep. If it was my house you had better hope your truck is fast cause I would be on you like stink on s^%t.

I beleave there is a law about using a horn for something other then its intention. Ask your self why does a car have a horn? I do not thing that is one of its intentions.

They were just giving you a taste of what it feels like to be harassed.

Do You and your stupid sidekick wanna go back and honk your horn again sometime soon?

you nailed it right here. Sounds to me like some kids needed to get spanked. Luckily for them, it was the cops who did it and not some angry neighbor. You kids got off with just about the right amount of distress to learn a lesson.

Nobody got hurt, nobody had thier life screwed up, just a couple of kids got a taste of real life.

That is good stuff there. :D Oranges? Not sure I get that but there are a lot of things I don't understand about those folks.
