Cooke City Shoot out

Too bad we can't find a "longer in length" hill for the Cooke City Shoot Out! It would be much more entertaining and draw a much bigger crowd (more $$$ for Cooke). The avalanche danger does get in the way as we all experienced a few years back!

Anyone have any ideas of something that might work out, keeping in mind it needs to stay in a "safe zone" free of avalanche danger (which might not be possible)?

Not trying to intrude on anyone's planning, just thought I'd bring it up.

Here is where we do the drags each spring...and it is a blast. Some good size whoops on the way up (get some good air)...

Yeah, sheep creek is definitively not the place to be. Maybe you could talk the forest service into setting off some TNT to lower the risk:D Last year everything was sliding all year.

I will get the crew from 10 HIGH to come up and do some filming also.
The Sled and Liver Tune is always over New Years and we all have other commitments. So to have something else at a later date is great for us:D
We only have 1 PG turbo but we will have 3-5 on the 110+ octane for Sunday! I will be anxious to see how the xp's do against the m's Looking forward to it! Cheers!

sounds great

This soumds like a great time can not wait to go. Hopefully good snow and weather.

definately appreciate the though on where to have some racing, no real idea on where would be good, as i havent been to cooke in 2 years, so its all sorta fuzzy. avy danger is never great anywhere, especially out in the open early jan, so I was thinking maybe over back in the round lake area, not the BIGGEST hills, but enough for a good race and solid demonstration, seen what looks like a decent hill on google earth that is sorta stepped so people could hang out mid hill if they wanted. ill post a screen shot when i get a chance.

the safest place to drag would prob be the west side of daisy pass where you go over the top. its fairly wide and gets a lot of traffic. Its all going to depend on snow conditions and visibility. this type of get together would be better to hold in march when there is more coverage which would open more safe options

thats were they hold the sled and liver tune:beer;:beer;

Let's go sounds fun

This sounds like fun can't wait to go and hope for good snow and good weather. Hopefully see everyone there and some sweet sleds.

We have a big group coming from Idaho down for it. 509films and 208productions will both be down there. This should be a great time. I can't wait to see all the different setups out there and see how they compare.

Aaahh, I don't know about you, but I have seen that area slide more than once!!!

im gonna be there, booking rooms within the week, gotta get the group organized, and assuming my POS sled works!

im gonna talk to some of the people i know from cooke, but not gonna be holding hill drags like BIS or the sled/live tune, just looking for a good hill 2,3, or 4 guys could go side by side up to see how they compare, not looking for the biggest most open hill ever, just something to get an idea whats going on, better then dragging on the flats.

lets hope for safe avy conditions so we can put the power to the test!

oh jeez... if 509 and 208 are there... should be some good carnage!
