FGFDSJ GIRETP9IU N RT9 GPUIPFG FPDOGI PREROTU ASPDGU What, i can not hear you through your helmet, face mask, and fogged up goggles. If you walk into a public place wether it be bank, bar, or gas station remove your helmet. I have know Rick and Susan for some year's now and have nothing but great thing's to say about them. You need to understand also that they see alot of asses in a year. Put yourself in there shoes and try to last a winter with beg's and pleases for a dollar tip. It is a business they have run in a very remote area and do IMO a great job at. Knock Rick more and ask him to save your *** or a buddies with your life at stake. DONE!!! Winter is his bread and butter. He will work more hour's in a week then you or I in 2. So he own's 2 gas station's in a small town. Do you think that he makes a killing from may through novermber? If it pisses you off soo much buy a gas station and dealership in Cooke and live there for a whole winter and cater to every single winer or good being at your bekon call. If not, it is not fair to post something like this about someone and their lively hood on snowest. This is not a middle school "chat room."

You must not realize that Cooke is actually busier in the summer than it is in the winter. I think Ricky does well all year round, hell he owns half the town. I also have never had an issue with him, but am always on my tip toes when in there.

no kidding let the thread die, i dont care how damn busy you are, treat customers with respect you dont have to be an *** hole no matter how busy you may be, its your business and if you want a little more butter on that bread you act like you need it! from the majority of responses it sounds like im not the only one with these problems.....i started this thread to give bob credit because he was the one who turned my trip around and tell ppl about my bad experience not bash rick on his avalanche and rescue techniques and skills

I'm not going to let this thread die! At least till it hits 75 posts. Fraufarm you are messing with a man's livelyhood and reputation!!!!!!!

You started this thread to give Bob kudos? B.S.!!!! You started it to bash Rick! Tell the truth! This makes me question even more how truthful your first post is. By the majority of the responses on here you assume everyone has trouble with Rick. Truth be known that for every 10 like you there are 500 like me who have never had a problem with Rick. But as it always goes 9 out of the 10 like you will run your mouth and bash someone even if it is only full of half truths, and only 2 or 3 like me out of the 500 will get on here and post the good that we see from people. It is that way everywhere in business. I see it everyday. Remember me saying that I go to Cooke very little anymore and why I don't go there much. Well fraufarm you are more than likely one of those reasons. If you don't like the treatment then stay in ND and ride those great borrow ditches that everyone flocks to ND to ride. Otherwise when you are out in Cooke or wherever else you might go, remember you are a guest there and courtesy and kindness goes a long way. Just because you dump a load of money there that does not give you the right to dump your attitude on people. P.S. if you ever get into trouble and have to have Search and Rescue come help you out in Cooke I would be willing to bet Rick will be the first one on scene. And I hope the first thing he says to you is " Take your darn helmet off so I can hear you crying like a baby." I would also be willing to bet you would be kissing his --- instead of bashing him:face-icon-small-hap

I get a kick out of the guys that are going to haul there own gas just for spite. If Cooke is that terrible, just don't go there anymore. There are other places to ride. I am from Nodak but when I am out sledding or doing anything for that matter, I try to be on my best behavior. I see it all the time though, the loud mouths at the bar or when eating, running on and on about how good of a rider they are, blah, blah, blah. I have found out the loudest talkers are the crappiest riders in general. As far as Rick, I could list many instances he has helped me or buddies when he can. I don't feel I need to make a list though to prove a point.

Exxon

The people at exxon are absolutely rude no if,and,or buts about it. I go all over the world for business and pleasure and I can honestly say my experience at cooke city exxon ranks right up there as the worst. Its unfortunate because they obviously do alot of business and you would think they would appreciate the people walking through the door.

I totally have to agree, for all the places I've been i have never been treated with such disrespect by a business....maybe i will start taking my business and all my friends business to other places where we can dump our money, track up all the snow we want (the reason we drive a thousand miles) and still get treated like a good payin customer should

That would be great!!!!!! I'd start going back to Cooke. Buy the Exxon fraufarm if it is so bad, it is or was for sale. Or better yet take your spoiled butt and your money elsewhere and I will come back to Cooke on a weekly basis. The thing you don't realize is dealing with customers on a daily basis is a whole lot differant than sitting in a 150k dollar tractor on your dad's wheat farm. To top it off there are the customers like you that think just because we have money we come first. I'd be willing to bet when I was going to Cooke I spent a lot more money there in a season than you have. I ate there, i bought gas there and I stayed in rooms there. I bought sleds there. I never once thought I was special because of it. Buy your comment that " I've been everywhere" Leads me to beleive you are one of those braggards that someone else pointed out. You're the best rider in the bar! And because you have a boat load of your dad's money you think you can treat business people like your servants We are getting more and more of the picture with everyone of your posts. Keep it up eventually everyone will have you figured out.:face-icon-small-hap

This thread alone is almost enough to get me to buy a premium membership just so I can keep defending a GOOD MAN!!!!

These are the people you are talking about fraufarm. Read these 2 threads, Rick and Susan are the only 2 people mentioned by name in these 2 articles. Everyone who has posted are very greatful that Rick and Susan are there as am I. And even though noone else was mentioned by name there are many good people in Cooke and I am glad they all are there.

I have been to cooke city 5 times. Every time we go we buy all of our gas and oil from the Exxon. Rick and Susan have been nothing but helpful and very nice people. I've bought parts and inquired about technical information for my sled. My riding buddies have used there rentals and had them work on there sleds. I have always had nothing but good experiences with the Exxon.

:boink:Come on rust in their gas?? How about someone starts rumors about your buisiness and spreads it all over the internet. I'm pretty sure Rick isn't burning rusty gas in his machines!

I've never met BearClawBob but he sounds like a really nice guy

You get what you give...someone on here stated show him a little respect and that's what you'll get in return. I've found that very true with Ricky the last 20 years riding in Cooke. And he does remember a face, especially one that treats him w/ respect.

A few years back we dropped in a ****hole and found a bunch of "mountain rookies" we'll call them, way further in than they should have been. Half our crew stayed and worked on getting them out, and half went to town and got S&R(including Ricky). It was after 9pm when we finally got them all out and back to town- which means there is no food available. Ricky opened his store up to us for anything we wanted. We bought what we needed, gave him the money and asked for no change(tills were closed). Then we filled the S&R can full of cash, even though we were not the ones they went after. The "mountain rookies" never took their helmets off, asked for correct change, and never gave a dime to S&R. They never even said thanks to us or the S&R guys. I'm not defending rude behavior, but you do get what you give. And I'm damn glad he's one of the ones that will come get me if I ever need it. For that reason alone I have no problems supporting his business.

shut up

I've not been on here long but now i will most likely not return! you guys sound like a bunch of sniveling little Bit*hes. I'm sorry your life is so boring you have to get on here and bi$ch at each other but if this is the way you vent then so be it. Haven't you ever heard the saying someone that has a bad experience will tell 50 people, where someone that has a good one will only tell 10! If not,now you have. Get on with your lives Rick will be there open for business no matter how bad someone bashes him. Get on here and do something constructive.Update date people with things they really need to know not things that hurt your little feeling because someone is picking on your buddy! My experience on this site was short lived you guys are sad!!
You sound like a bunch of yankees from the northeast just bit$h Bit$ch Bit$h

Here is my two cents. I think bob is the greatest!!! I started going to Cooke 20 years ago before many out side of the region knew of Cooke (at least for snowmobiling). Life is hard running any business (I own two). I stopped going to Cooke because it gets tracked to hell and there are plenty of idiots to go around that think there **** doesn't stink. I have seen both sides of Rick (funny how that has been mentioned about Rick, but never about BOB :)) I have always been courteous to Rick and some times he has just been an a** hole in return. If people on here feel that Rick has rust in his tanks and have proof they should call the EPA I am sure they would like to know since the tanks could be leaching into the stream that is in the back of his property. I most likely will not ride in Cooke for some time. I bought a cabin in a better riding place in my opinion. I am one of those Minnesota guys. FYI if it where not for the Midwestern riders Cooke would shut down in the winter (take a look at the license plates sometime). I will go to Cooke in the summer with the family and stay with Bob and make sure I am full of gas :-)! :boink: Everyone have a safe and fun year of ridding!!!:present:

I didn't fly Jet Blue yesterday. I saw a rabbit. Elk broke a point.

You got what was comming to you for riding a new poo.

You now know, CATS rule and Griz drule.

If you have no knowledge of all the above statements then stay home. Let real men and women ride these hills. We understand s**t happens. Babies cry when not given a bottle on time. Some of us get tired of serving you every day no matter our profession.

I don't care if you like Rick, Sue, Bob, Tom, Dick or Larry. I'm impartial either way but your attitude is the reason that most of the people in Cooke are from the Mid-West. The attitude that your money is the reason people have jobs and reason cooke city is there is a joke. The ego and entitlement attitude that is often coupled with reckless, and often inexperienced riding is why you don't find a ton of locals there. If you guys all leave, Cooke will again be supported by people from the west. This post as nothing to do with the OP, I wasn't there and have no dog in this fight. Good Luck and be safe this winter.

So Rick and Bob and the others don't want my money, I will let them know you said that after Christmas.

Ricky's a good guy!

Been to Cooke a number of times and Ricky has helped our group out every time! I,ve also seen rude demanding people piss him off also. Walk in say hi, wait your turn and he'll help you every time. You want no help, wonder into Jesco in Kalispell sometime and see what getting bent over is like!

No one said they don't want your money, I said we can survive without you....but I'll pass your message on as I spend my money there this weekend......where are you riding this weekend????? Every room you don't take in town this weekend is one we will book...I'll be sure to let them know that I took the place of one of you there both this weekend, next weekend and New Years weekend. Have a good winter, I'm sure the bars along the trail in Minnesota will be happy you stayed home....

oh my god you guys, shut up and go ride. I don't have more than a couple days experience in cooke city so I can't rightfully pass judgement on anyone at this point. "The customer is always right" is a rule a lot of businesses live or die by, and respecting those businesses & the people that run them is important as well. Tact is important when you deal with people everyday, and some folks just don't have as much as others.

Bulcrap

Reading all this **** makes me sick. if you dont like him dont go there tell your friends about him. dont tell the world on the web. and no one owns the mountains they are for everyone. and some of you can ride better than others who gives a **** if you live in mt,nd.sd or where ever. we all know there are dip****s in the world if we ignore them they will go away.
