Considering a new pup.... Need ideas please....

Update: We adopted a pup from the SPCA Friday! He's a six month old Mastiff/ Shepherd cross. We named him Charlie. He's AMAZING! He's a total lap dog, and super calm.

They found him and another dog abandoned in the ditch on the highway. They couldn't save the othe dog due to mal nourishment and neglect. Charlie is 53 lbs, and has a LOT of growing left....

Let's see if these pics work....

Oh my what a topic close to me and my wifes heart. We have a Lab a Whippet and a Vizsla. I have to admit the Lab is a awesome dog (never a better pal around the house) the Whippet (not the best dog but a great pet and love to catch rabbits in my yard) now the Vizsla (the most destructive puppy I have ever owned), but has turned out to be the best and most loving dog I have ever owned! So in the pic you also see my cat, now this cat is the best friend of my Vizsla and they are best friends. Also my Vizsla is very young in this photo and this is taken in out motorhome while snowmobiling. We just love our pets and understand anyones pet loss.

Very nice! I'm a total pet nut. I don't have kids (yet), so I consider my dogs and the cat to be almost like kids. I think he'll work out great. It'll ust take a bunch of work to get him used to our routines around here. Once he gets big, if he doesn't listen, there won't be much we can do......

Small But Awesome

This gut is pretty Bada$$. A little to small at times but he acts like a big dog all the time. Great with kids, other animals and I can take him everywhere.

Does anyone know how much I should feed this guy? He looks pretty mal nourished, but I still don't wanna over feed him.

I'd say check with your vet. Our Shepherd was supposed to eat 4-5 cups per day. Everyone thought he was a malnourished rescue for the first 2 years we had him. Big dogs just look that way when they are pups.

I love a lab or a lab mix for a great dog. I had a purebred and a lab-rot mix that I have now. She is a great dog. My wifes hobby is breeding dogs, we have chihauhas, yorkies and maltese. The Maltese is hands down 10x better breed than both the others. Like having a mini lab, easy to potty train, great with the kids and easy to train.

I can't have kids and don't plan on adopting, so our pets are family also.
Now throw a couple of parrots into the mix that instigate the dogs.... LMAO, good times
