Considering a 2012 pro with 700 miles; should i be scared?

i want to buy a used 2012 pro and i have found one i'm very interested in. It has 700 miles on it though. Should i be scared of the miles on it? These all come with a two year warranty right? Either way, anything i should consider doing to it for preventative maint if i do end up picking it up? Any help would be great! thanks

Vernon

haha, in no way am i scared or worry of what the sled is capable of, i just mean chassis and engine wise, things to consider at 700 miles and also, when approaching the 1000 and 1500 mile marks

My 11 has 3500 miles on it now on the original motor. Just rode it on saturday and Sunday ( still 8 feet of snow where I was riding) and it ran very strong

HOW IS IT OK TO GET SUCH LOW MILES OUT OF A POO MOTOR AND STILL BE HAPPY???:face-icon-small-con It blows my mind that you guys think its just part of snowmobiling to replace motors with such LOW miles!:face-icon-small-dis

"JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WARRANTY AS LONG AS YOU OWN IT!":face-icon-small-sho

HOW COMPLETELY F'D UP IS THAT? :moony:

I'd say go for it. Only got about 80 miles on my 12 due to a bent tunnel and knee injury but loved every second of it. The fact people dont realize we live in a throw away society that's run by big business and the all mighty dollar baffles me...

I want one of those '13 Pro's so bad! But fawk that warranty/motor sht!

Yes, you have come to the Polaris section and continue to tell people just how bad the motor is. But you are much nicer to Polaris here than you are in the AC section.

For the original question. I have 1600 trouble free miles on my Pro. The only problem was a chaincase problem that was my fault (oil leaked). But guess what? No chaincase in '13!!

Huh? That's funny, cuz in the Cat section I call the Poo motor JUNK! And here in your quote of me I'm calling it fckn sht!

I'd say you're wrong in this one bud! Lol!

Oh yeah! 1600 miles is laughable!

I'm goin be on my '08 TM8 and take it to 10,000 miles this season!

Bro, quit kicking yourself in the nuts! We've all wanted for so long what Poo is building for us in 2013. It's here. Thank them and get it and enjoy. If you ever hope to see the other two get to that weight you need to cast your vote or THEY will keep kicking you in the nuts.

417lbs out of the box (easy to dream of 400lbs if you start there) with 700 power (plenty). Look at it that way and quit waiting for Cat. They,ve shown you their future and it's 4 strokes for the mountains. It has nothing to do with real mountain riding (weight) unless you group up at the bottom of a shoot and applaud the guy with the most money and balls. That's not my riding but cool for the ones that enjoy that.

My own personal survey LOL, shows the doo and poo 800 motors equal for reliability in 2011 and 2012. I'm sure that statement will bring some responses but that's what I got asking the guys working in the back outside the shop environment. You'll never hear that on Snowest LOL.

So you godda ask yourself "Do I feel lucky today?" No LOL, just kidding. What you have to ask yourself is " What do I want to make my snowmobiling days the most fun for ME!" and pick your line.
There are many lines to take and life is too short to stay away from the lines you want to take.

geo, I hear where you're comin from and all but I want boost and I know vdog does too! Warranty isnt going to do much for us and I want to ride not wait for the dealer to tell me sorry youll have to pony up 3Gs for a new motor if you want to ride next month! Thats a kick in the nuts I wont stand for! As much smack as give the Poo motor, I'd be killin myself when it left me sled-less for who knows how long to replace that week as$ motor. I'll take my old TM8 over that nightmare!!!!

The stock Pro 700 power just aint enough! And for the record.... The '13s do not weigh 417 out of the box. But 440 out of the box is awesome any way you look at it!

Vdog, you're totally fine buying that 700 mile Pro with a warranty, but then what? 700 power toting your 270# frame up what kind of hills? Sht! You could buy a '05 M7 turbo it for the same cash as that Pro!

Go buy the fn 05 cat, heard it's the bong....:rockon: 10,000.00miles boy.:hail: What! Didnt you know???
