Consensus on 858 Weight

Figuring out my snow check for the 858. Never ordered an electric start sled. Any idea of how much weight I would be adding with the ES. if I get a lighter lithium battery and ditch the heavy stock battery?

The stock battery is huge. I think it weighs 13-15 pounds.

I put an "EarthX" lithium ion battery in my Khaos... rated to do better in the cold than, say, a Shorai. I'll do the same with my Catalyst. I'm totally addicted to electric start so I won't buy a new sled without it. :)

my noco was a group 14 i think vs the group 20 that came in it and it has worked great and is maybe 3 pounds plus comes with spacers to take up the extra space. i loooooovvvve my electric start. its not that its needed but wow its nice. ive had multiple shoulder surgeries so its nice for that fact too.

They did tell me that you do not have to cut to put the better boards on. They actually unbolt now. I'm also pretty sure the muffler got bigger than the alpha.

guessing close to 80lbs of fuel and oil then 15lbs or so of coolant. got to be in the low 400's dry weight then.

my friends production 858 snopro 155 ..... just weighed it full of gas and oil hanging on one of those digital scales was 508 lbs
I am surprised that there isn't more chatter about this? I guess it is expected results but they are pretty impressive numbers IMHO. That's 20 lbs. lighter than the poutine princess, and on par with total recall. Now the Catalyst has to prove if its the cats meow or kitty litter? All kidding aside i am excited to get this sled and get out and ride it. Us Cat fans have waited a long time to get a sled like this and it's looking pretty darn good. at least on paper.

Thats what i expected. My 800 catalyst ended up under 490 wet.

If the motor runs even just as well as a piped 800 and is reliable, Polaris snowchecks are gonna look even more dismal next year.

With what I've observed on Catalyst parts coming from the aftermarket and free things I have done on other sleds It looks like a person could get a 154 3.0 track Catalyst near 470lb RTR with stock amount of fuel in the tank. The cost goes up SIGNIFICANTLY to get it to 465lb.
