Consensus on 858 Weight

I could see that. Polaris’ chassis is essentially 10 years old (minus plastics, tunnel, bulkhead, coolers, over structure, engines, boost, seat, console, gauges, headlights, tanks and fueling system updates)
Yep.

Those that think a 2012 proclimb is the same as a 2022 ascender have to say the Polaris Axys is essentially the same as a Matryx too lol.
Except the ascender uses the same bulkhead and tunnel as the proclimb, while the matryx doesn’t use the same bulkhead or tunnel.

Bare chassis looking similar isn’t the same as actually being the same.

It's also a bit subjective as to what a person's definition of crazy is too. Overall dollars spent, dollar/lb average, dollar/lb per part, does the part provide any additional benefits such as reduced rotating mass or increased durability, is the part on the outside of the chassis or close to the center of mass where it's effect on handling is reduced? All things to consider.

The two lists I made are total of $4800 spent to get to 470lb (seemed like a nice number), and $8700 to get to 465lb.
If you take out all the parts that are over $300/lb I'm seeing 476lb (32lb lost) for about $2600. That takes out most of the rotating weight items and some fancy A-arms.

I’m hoping for a single pipe setup similar to the current 800. Add 10hp and drop 20lbs.

ordered all of the parts and built a full custom light weight 141 inch track mod sled 27yrs ago and it was 10k with out the motor. At that time the sled weighed 431 lbs with the triple motor and 5 gallons of gas. Pretty crazy to see the new sleds weigh the same with much longer tracks and bigger tanks now
