The problem as I see it is simple: Christopher the mighty and powerful has used his might and power to put an exclamation point behind his opinion. He is perfectly entitled to make a post about how much he likes a product, or an idea. He has an id on this forum and he is not banned.
May I suggest Christopher that you create a second alias. One, that does not have the power of your ADMIN alias. One that is just like the rest of us pee-ons. Now, the challenge to doing this is 1) I think it's against the rules to have more than one alias, but under these circumstances, I'd think it would be supported. But, the idea that if you are going to state an opinion or review, it would be in a different role: a member, not the all-powerful ADMIN. When you state your opinion on any issue as ADMIN, you are in fact saying that the forum as an entity has endorsed said opinion. There will be a huge personal challenge for you if you choose this path: to keep them separate. That's not easy. You have to remove emotion, and be objective. And, if you decide to go this way, it would be smart not to identify yourself, but we'll likely figure it out soon enough.
I thoroughly enjoy Jim's movies. Others make great films as well. I think Jim deserves a lot of credit, for being the one who raised the bar for level of professionalism with the making of the films. I'm not saying his riders are better or worse than others, or his filming is better or worse, just his approach to the whole movie-making.
That being said, it's a misuse of Christopher's admin access to send a PM to everyone for any one product. Taminator summed it up very very well. All-call PMs have their place: emergencies, forum announcements, that sort of stuff. But not sharing anyone's opinion.
Have a great summer! And, I am really looking forward to seeing the Sledbetties product! Congrats ladies for what you are doing with that project!
