CMX belt drive on new pro

CMX

What Rick! said...

In this pic of SnowDawgs tunnel... you can see the new suspension location mounted back and down from the stock location...This is typical to the install.

If you don't, the inside fo the track will rub on the upper cross tube of the front swing arm... it is pretty close when stock... move the track down 1" and you will see what I'm talking about.

Hey guys...This is not a picture of a CMXDS installation. My guess is that it is Avid's extended chain case. Our system only requires a very slight trim with a die grinder on the PTO side to remove about 1/16" of material. This picture shows a bigger mod to the stock chassis. See picture below of the CMXDS install. Very little mod to the stock chassis and easy to reverse. Thanks,

With that said... would a stock suspension with stock rails or a stock suspension with trimmed rails still be able to be installed
with the current CMX in the stock front torque arm location in the tunnel?

BTW... These are all sincere questions to help me to understand the different options. I think highly of the products from Mark (CMX) and from Kevin (K-MOD)

Having a closer look at the photos in your post.... you are not running the CMX though running the KMOD... (The driveshaft is the stock 12 PRO RMK)

I also notice that you are running the Avid PC style drivers... what track and lug-height are you running?... How many tooth driver and what pitch?

=====================

Kevin,

In Assault11's pics he shows the front arm being moved up... in the tunnel... I believe this is standard practice with the K-mod in the PRO Chassis?

You say above that the key with the D&R is to keep the front arm in the Stock position... Do you shorten the limiter straps to compensate for this and still keep the rails in the same position relative to the chassis to maintain the AOA?

Are you running this combo with the 3" paddle track.. and if so, what is the tooth count on the driver with the CMX?

I am running an avid d+r 1+1 with 8 tooth three inch pitch drivers and a 3 inch lug track. Everything clears fine. You do have to pull up the limiter strap a bit

Front arm is in the stock location (we do not move it up in the tunnel), the photo shows were he had the stock skid mounted lower than stock before the K MOD.
We do mount the rear arm up in the drop bracket to control ride height because of the longer travel.
The straps are longer compared to stock to take advantage of the longer travel in the skid.
The CMX drive with 3'' pitch 8 tooth drivers combined with the 3'' track is the combo we have tested.
