Clutching the 09" 154" SLP pipe&head combo

going to gear both sleds to 19 tooth--the 08 runs great in clicker 4 with the 09 set up and 19 tooth gear and out pulls the 09 piped sled in the deep on the hill---piped and head 09 runs great but will also get the gear
 
test tonite on the big horns

test 1----piped 09 jetted down to 480 {stock jetting} ran 8200-8300 in clicker 5 which was a 200 rpm gain--it also ran better and pulled harder--out ran the 08 by 1 1/2 to 3 sleds every time-

test 2---- 09 sled back to stock pipe except for the y pipe and it slowed it down 1 to 2 sleds--about identicle rpms--didnt have as hard a pull--also tried clicker 4 and slowed down even more and only ran 7800 to 7900 rpms

test 3---- put the slp pipe back on and clicked down to 3 and pulled good and ran 7900 to 8000 rpms still faster than the 08--then went to 4 on clickers and ran 8000 to 8100 and pulled real good

my honest opinnion the slp pipe kit works and does not loose rpms
the rpm issues are partly gear related and here is why i feel this way

test 4 the sled with the pipe and head rips and we made a gear change and it gained--yes gained rpms--and was 2 sleds further ahead at the end of the field we raced in [ about 800 feet ]i know its not suppose to but our 08's did and so did the 09----

test 5 we clicked the sled with pipe and head to 5 and the pipe only sled will almost beat it --clicker 5 with THIS clutching sucks

so my 09 is gettin geared down for saturday--if these sleds will hit 8200-8300 in clicker 3 or 4 at the most they are veeeeery good

2 sleds further ahead of which sled? The '09 with y-pipe, pipe and can only(no head)? How much do you think is attributed to the head and how much to the gear change?

the sled with the pipe and head was already beating all our sled by 3 to 4 sleds and pulling away fast in our test area--after we geared it ,it will beat the same sleds by 5 to 7 sleds and it is pulling away even faster--the head makes as much or more difference than the pipe alone--thinkin strong about puttin a head on mine as well---its a animal to ride--
 
what jetting are you running in the pipe head combo sled i am running 9-10000 feet with 480 and way to rich

On stock set up went to 8.5 grams in clicker 3 and now pulls 8200 in 2 feet snow havnt had it on any hills yet though so not sure if it will be able to pull it.

pipe and head sled I am going to try 9 grams before I try gearing down.

sled with pipe and head has 500's and is running great with 20 gear:D:D--i afraid if we go to light a pin we will start slipping the clutch so we are gearing instead--i am also going to try the 20 instead of the 19---as per idahoslims suggestion---saturday--i need about 100 to 200 rpms tobe where i want it to run so we'll see:eek::face-icon-small-hap
 
I just got back from dealer
hooked up to computer my sled had a detnation that wouldn't clear
Got reprogramed so I will be starting over testing pipe head combo. Hopefuuly I will see some clean plug readings now
Guess Ill get a 20 tooth gear coming Im like you TA i want to be done tinkering and just ride it. I have spent way to much time other years messing with clutching.
