Clutching the 09" 154" SLP pipe&head combo

Has anyone heard what the setup should be for the 09' 154" w/SLP y-pipe, pipe,& can. Also when you add there head w/domes for alt.8000' up. Checked the website from time to time, nothing updated last I checked.
 
you will want to start out with hollow pins for sure and you might need the 08 pins which are shorter and lighter---jmo
 
Rode with 2 09's , one with a SLP pipe and and one with a pipe and head---the piped sled is working better than any 08 we had with us and the one with the head absolutely RIPS---no contest---
 
wait till they click over the 10 hr mark in the computer and see what happens then , you will need to get 3 tanks through the sled before it is all there .
 
just got home 41 miles of rode ridding sled acted very wierd
Knock senser went off 3 times at 10100 feet
Sled was so rich it fouled plugs
not sure what happend havnt changed anything
everything still stock last time was reving 8250 now only 7500

what you running for pins to get 8250 at 10000 feet ??????????
 
hollow pins in click 5 topped out at 86 mph last night
that was on hard pack
in 1 foot no track could only run 50 at 7400 rpm
The sled kept having engine light on and saying detnation but only at 10100 feet down lower didn't go off. Sled runs like it is choked now. Ran out of gas at 41 miles. Pistons completly washed off plugs wet.

we will have our sleds run 8200 in clicker 3 at 9000 feet ---never seem to have any speed in 5---get your sled to dealer to ck out det..problem and if you ride that high i would get him to put in the 08 pins hollow--JMO
 
I have a set of lighter hollow pins I am going to put in and try hopefully they will get me down to clicker 3. I dont like running above 4. sleds have always seemed to run better to me with less pin weight and lower clicker.
 
Jetting & Clutching on the 09' XP w/SLP

I checked back with SLP website & they now list jetting to be 490 with the pipe set, but nothing as far as the head & exhaust combo yet. T/A whats your findings after the ride?
 
running short hollow pins still to heavy for stock set up
works ok on road turning 8200 but in 18" snow only 7900
am going to go to some aluminum pins and load them to 11 grams hopefully it will pull that

08 stock pins are 10.9grams--09 longer are 12.2 grams:confused::confused:

So the current setup is #490 jet w/pipe, #500's w/pipe & head.:beer;:cool:

Primary clutch running stock spring & ramps, but shorter hollow pins (10.9 grams)like in the 08's.

Secondary running stock spring & helix?:confused:

If not, what poundage? Stock start & heavier finish?

stock helix and spring--should have a good test saturday 30+" snow:D:D
 
my neighboor is running there kit... head, pipe, can, v-reeds and he is at 500 mains which is 2 steps higher than stock. He is sponsored by SLP and he says the don't have a lot of field time on the kit.

we tried 490 with head and pipe and its a little lean , trying 500's saturday
