Clutch belt mileage?

600 miles on my pro, original belt. Pulled a thread at 500, cut it off, burned the string, and kept riding. works perfect still and has pretty low belt dust. Clutches are still on the hot side though.

Lost my QD belt at 545mi though.

I have 1500 miles on my original PRO belt and it still looks good. I have removed and cleaned (scotchbrite and hot soapy water) it about every 400 miles. I should get another 500 miles out of it at least. I may change it out at the beginning of next season just to start fresh.

How hard are you guys riding that are getting 1000+ miles on a belt? I was getting about 250 miles on a belt then I put a slp torque arm in and now I'm getting about 350-400 miles. Sled is stock, foot well blocked off, blowhole for venting, all gaps in the belly pan to bulkhead siliconed and the alignment is good. I think I'm gonna send the clutches out to get balanced and machined true and see if that helps.

I've never had a sled that I could get more than 400 miles per belt but at $180 per belt I was hoping for more.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I ride pretty hard for an older fella. Very few trail miles on my belts. Lots of long hard pulls in the steep and deep. Keep your clutches and belt clean and they last. I have no non-stock venting at all.

I blow out the clutches, wash the sheaves with soapy water and scotchbrite them and the belt every couple of rides.

I haven't blown a belt yet but they look like they are starting to delaminate and will run 300-400 rpm low.

670 miles on a guys in our group last weekend when it granaded. Had to take the 4 torx head bolts off of the helix plate and pull the helix before the secondary would open to pull the cords out. pain in the ***.

Well Polaris had never heard of my clutch issue, so no warranty. "The perfect storm" is how it was described. As much as I hate to say it I hope the belt blows up again and messes up the secondary. Then it will be "ON"!! 592 miles one belt and one secondary clutch. Oh well can't win them all.
