A viral meme attempts to undercut the evidence of climate change by using an edited cover of Time magazine -- and regurgitating a misleading claim about "global cooling."
While a number of media outlets reported on some briefly-lived scientific fears over global cooling in the 1970s, viral images purporting to show a cover story on the topic are doctored.

1970s ice age predictions were predominantly media based. The majority of peer reviewed research at the time predicted warming due to increasing CO2.

Weird, so according to your summary, the majority of scientists in the 70s were predicting global warming while global cooling was a theory followed by a smaller minority. As a teenager in the 70s, I remember very well being taught about the pending ice age. I wonder why the state chose this curriculum if it wasn't generally accepted and there were other point of views to consider.
You might take that up with your state or local school board, or even individual teacher, since that's who is ultimately responsible for the curriculum taught in any given class.
All I can give is a review of the actual scientific papers.
Yeah right because the warming faithful have never been caught changing the data when it dosen't fit their narrative. Even now suggesting schools were teaching something other than popular theories of the day.
