Chinook Pass/Bald mtn./Little Naches

Great afternoon. Snowed all morning then cleared out. Left the house around 2, got in a 40 mi ride, about a foot of new on top and didn't see a soul! Did a lot of cross-country and climbing. Lovin the 850!
I was riding at Mount Saint Helens with the Junco Snowmobile club... Great club by the way. I demo'd a 2017 Ski Doo 850 and wow what a different ride from my Pro Rmk. Good snow about a foot but heavy... Could not see crap though.

yes great day for a ride just 3 of us but we tore up as much of your area as possable before it started getting socked in up top, ya didn't see anyone there either closest was at w. jacks 4 sleds fueled up but headed west, only did 124 miles today and I think it must have been you that tore up the last 1/3 of jeep trail you made it just like I-5, thanks. oh ya pict's suck today as NiCad batteries didn't like the cold and gopro camera a bit small.

Wasn't me, I didn't ride any jeep trail, I was all cross-country. I very rarely ride Little Naches, haven't been up there since early Dec.

jeep trail by roost has some interesting areas but yes after you finally got snow by your house that is a ride without the rewards and way too many trees.

My buddy was riding creeks up little naches years ago and almost fell in a hole. It went down about 10 feet into a raging icy creek. We tied the sled to a tree and slid it away. He would have died instantly. Creeks are fun, but be careful and know what's underneath.

is there any soft snow to be found right now

yep stayed on w.wa. side and found plenty yesterday in the trees. figured didn't want to meet all the e.wa. skibenders people coming down ice hill, and it looked cloudy from where we were also.

ya creekbeds are dangerous and need to know them when riding them, this one is frozen now some people went down it when unfrozen and spent over 3 hrs shoveling to get out, just wish they would have removed a few more limbs that were sticking out, lol

I love this shot! The cloud deck in the distance is playing some kind of optical illusions with Rainier

17" of new so far at my house in the last 3 days and dumping an inch an hour right now! Gonna be some deep pow this week. Good thing I'm gonna shred it all week.
