Chain case life Gen 5

Yes they seem to be about 10 hp high if the Turbo G4 only had 165 hp.

Thats what mine had when it was dyno’ed so it matched BRP’s claim. So until we see a honest dyno of a boost thats not on a bikeman dyno, I will believe doo’s claim when they put a boost on their dyno.

Same dyno for the Boost was 195 hp.

does 195 seem realistic from anyone that's ridden one? that's an impressive number.
Certainly does not seem like 195 is getting to the snow. Or they are heat soaking early and backing down?

brp was well aware of the Chinese chain case components very early on in the season . Not sure when parts will be available to do the update and from my understanding it’s an inspection of parts not guaranteed they will replace anything.
I guess we can just keep cranking the chain tight as that’s a normal practice 🙄
These sleds need the tki fix or a solid shaft to be reliable IMO .
I put solid shaft and hyvo gears and chain in my 23 and after the first stretch of the chain I haven’t had to tighten chain again all season.

Plenty of the Boost making more than 180 but can't seem to find any dyno results of the G5. Maybe it is making way more than Ski-Doo claims? Bikeman did dyno the G4 and the results were close to what Ski-Doo claimed so should we trust their results for the Boost?

On Bikeman dyno 2020-2022 etec 850 turbo made 178hp, wich is 13hp more than Doo claims. They either cant properly operate their dyno or its calibrated wrong, who knows. But their results are unreliable and have allways been.

Ive ridden 23 Turbo R side by side with Boost, and dont get me wrong Boost is a good engine but no match to Turbo R. Response, power, torque Doo wins every category and wins all the pulls.

All 2023 Turbo R deep snow sleds will get new BW Hyvo chain and sprockets, period. Dont get fooled by your dealer. Parts should be already available in most areas.

I love the Doo forum. One thread is about "new motor from BRP" and how everyone wants more power and the next thread directly below it is about chaincases blowing up from the new higher horsepower G5 turbo :ROFLMAO:

new vid on the chain case prob showing among other things, a bunch of examples of destroyed chaincases, the amount of wobble the sprocket exhibits as it's mounted on the driveshaft, the skidoo fix kit, the TKI kit, etc.

That video is a nice overview of the separate possible issues. FWIW I have a 22' N/A that I blew up the lower gear in. The 22 had the one-piece driveshaft but the weaker lower gear with the holes in it. Found a used solid gear set off an older sled and hoping that solves my problems for the future.

Very interesting that Narona said that they where isolated troubles from a few individuals.BRP must have tracked down all those using excessive force and decided everyone was using excessive force:ROFLMAO:
