Cat skid plates...rivots or screws?

I just got the large HD Cat skid plate. It comes with Rivets but I bought belly pan screws to use for mounting it instead of the rivets.

Really? I just installed the Cat HD Skid plate 2 days ago and it come with 19 new (longer) belly pan screws and 5 bolts. The install instructions specifically mention replacing the 19 screws you remove with the longer screws provided with the kit. It is tough enough installing the HD skid plate (holes don't line up) let alone trying to rivet it on!

oops

Wow, thats cool. I just opened the box and you are right, it came with belly pan screws. Nobody ever posted thats how they come. I said it came with rivets because thats what my other cat skidplate came with, hense is why I bought the bellypan screws.

The standard skid plate that I bought last year came with rivets, not screws. When I finally get around to installing it I plan on buying screws and not using the rivets.

just put mine on a few weeks ago. std orange plate, came with large head steel rivets. try pulling them with a hand rivet gun. was tough but doable. i cut out the center rear where the bulkhead is welded 2"x2" to clear the welds and make for a better fit. have owned all mfg's sleds now, cats plates absolutely fit the worst, in my opinion. ski
