ok heres the big question? wanting to buy the M-8 or M1000. I here the 1000
is nose heavy????? Iam 6,2 210lbs and of course I mountian ride. hills, meadows, everything. what do you recommend? opinions?

What do you ride now, and for how long?

Does my avatar look like the nose is heavy?

I own a 07 CF 1000, ya I know its not an M but I can tell you if I had to do it all over again I would get the M6 153. I installed the 144" on my CF but it is too heavy compared to my 06 CF 700. Like 40 pounds heavier and with all that extra pony and tall gears like 65/55 it will get beat by an M6. I would recomend the M8 sno pro. I now have changed gears and installed the powder pro skis. My buddys M 1000 felt heavy to him also and he is thinking about going back to a M8

I rode a M8-M1000 all this weekend. The8- 1000 handle about the same. There was a power differance but not as great as i thought it would be. The weight differance was almost not noticeable until you got into some deep powder. Then you have a considerbly more snow coming over the hood at you. If you can get the 1000 to float better get it, Otherwise I would get the 8

If your Crossfire 1000 will get whooped by an M6, something is wrong...

agreed.* The power out of the 1000 when set up right is crazy.* I rode my 05 m6 when I had, wide open 3/4 of the time.* If you can hold the 1000 wide open, the powers deep.

It isn't even a question..............

M-1000. You are 6'2" 210 and mountain ride. Handling is in the setup. I do not own an M-1000, but the setup on a mountain sled can make all of the differance in how it feels and handles. I think my Kingcat feel pretty good, it aint nose heavy at all. I also think my sled is setup pretty good for my riding style. Good Luck - 00's

if you gotta ask.better get the smaller girly sled:)

You're a good sized dude.

M1000 all the way. Set up is key. It took a bit of patience but once I got my sled dialed in................Way large fun factor!!

Oh yeah, and when I climb...........all you see is a track line.

FYI - I am 6'4" and 230 lbs, I came off an '06 M7 153 and have not looked back.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the M7, I occasionally ride several M8's in our group which are great, but I am happy with my current choice.

I'm 6'1", 210 lbs and ride a '09 M1000 162. On flat ground, the 1000 really doesn't have much over the M8. On a hill, there is no comparison. I ride with a lot of new sleds, cats, D8's, XP's, King Cats and older Edge's. The M10is a silent killer. It can be gentle down low but when you hit the gas it pulls like a tractor. I've got the SLP pipe and sno pro intake which removes 24 lbs on paper (16 lbs with exhaust and 8 with intake). The front end isn't heavy! We rode 4 days last week in the Jefferson area and when climbing on the M10 you look for the best place to crest the top of the hill. On the 800's you'd look for the best line to come back down. The M10 handles just fine in the tight stuff and works great in the deep snow. Your big enough to handle the extra lb's that is has over the 800. The difference in top end power is enough to upgrade to the M10.

I'm not bashing on the 800s either, they are great. The M10 just has more beans in the pot on top end.

They feel heavy because the stock skid suspension isn't up to par, for a few hundred bucks you can make it do what ever you want. As for me 6'6' 210lbs no gear, 09 m1000 162 pulls harder than my 07 with slp, the m8 feels the same with a lot less power. Setup is everything. I run the gen II skis takes a bit to get used to but I love em.
