Fresh snow and almost a year after this was started are there any updates on the BB 900 for the Pro?

Yes progress has been made. There are two prototypes on the snow now. Still some work to be made with the tune up, settings, clutching, and insurance of reliability that only comes with actual run time.

Quoting Jack Struthers the owner of Carl's Cycle Sales and designer of this application. "We have some miles on the first one and I'm not at all embarrassed to have our customers ride it". The goal is to get those critical use miles in the bank on the prototypes and then if everything checks out to his satisfaction they will be available for sale. That could possibly be in Jan! THAT IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER AND VERY EXCITING! The waiting list on the 900 is already pretty impressive. I spoke with several regular Carl's Big Bore customers through the sled show circuit that are going to buy this kit the second it's a go...most of those guys had 860's or 685/660's and know what to expect for performance and reliability...stay tuned

I rode the 900 last month when I was in McCall with Jack, getting my turbo update kit(which rips by the way). It was hard to guage at first after jumping off a 12lb turbo, but the 900 is legit. The bottom end and mid range are extremely strong and responsive. Top end is good, but not like the turbo. After getting back onto a stock Pro, you can really tell the difference. The stocker felt like a 600 in comparison. I think the 900 is going to be an awesome package, and I would love to have another sled just for the 900. In my mind, this will be the ULTIMATE boondocking motor.

any word or guesses as to the price tag? i'm thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of $5000 for the complete and proper setup??

Spoke with him today, your in the ball park. It maybe a little to far out yet for a solid price. Still alot of work to be done. But as the man said it is coming along!! LOL snow would help!
