Carl's 900 Pro?

it is still being developed. they might have one on the snow in the next week or so? but i'm not really in the know, more second hand. i doubt it will be half the price of a turbo. wasn't the 860 kit 4500-5000? i bet when you are all said and done it will be around there. but that is a complete guess. i too, am very interested in this motor...

You are spot on... about the same cost as an 860...according to Carl's

Jack has the motor built according to Chris and testing will go on thru this season.

Stock Crank and cases, cast cylinders, custom pistons.. custom etc...

Similar to the 860 in concept with some other twists.

There aren't enough qualified porting guys on this planet if they were half the price of the turbo kits! Does the term "selling like hotcakes" sound about right? Start adding up two new rough cast jugs, porting, custom pistons, custom head, exhaust, labor, the tuning stuff..$4,000-$5000 isn't enough.

It will be expensive and judging from my pretty vast experience with Carl's and the big bore world SO WORTH IT!

Betcha it will be amazing to ride:D:D:D

also heard that it is going to start out using the slp single? and not twins. to be honest my biggest hesitation would be low altitude issues since carl's pretty much tunes at elevation. have definitely seen issues with a couple cfi big bores around sea level. i really want one but i don't want to be the guy trying to figure it out at low elevation. it "shouldn't" be that big of a deal but... plus i want it on a second sled so i have a stock one and a full mod sled. i got real spoiled having to sleds the last couple of years. trying to build a new house might set sled number two back a bit. if i can only convince the wife...

I heard of this motor about 2 weeks ago and got another call today...Word travels fast! I can only assume it's The Crank Shop cast jugs etc? I can't find anything on The Crank Shop's website. Very interested to get specs because I thought there wasen't anymore room for bigger jugs b/c they would/were touching...Super stoked though that Jack has a 900 for a 430lb sled. Can't wait for it to be dialed!

Thanks for the info guys. I was just thinking if they got the price down a bit it would be a good seller. However, if it is around $5-6k then what is the point when you get a turbo and I know Carls does turbo kits too. Not trying to start a BB vs turbo discussion. I was hoping that a 900 big bore for around $2500-$3000 would fill the gap between doing a Performance Package and a turbo. Also was thinking that maybe they would be confident in selling a bunch that Carl's would be able to get cylinders, heads, pistons, etc for a better price.

Hey I used to know a guy that goes by your same name! He would come riding with us but more importantly he would call when he is coming into our country. Apparantly he's now simply TOO FRICKING BIG OF A DEAL and sneaks around with the A team and clingers on while us poor ol' b teamers poo poo off looking for riding scraps and shhhhnowmobile famedom!:D:D

Let me check my messages....AO but it will show up as "The Big Deal". Nope no messages! OH wait I was in Wyoming dealing with 3 feet of desert dry sugar fluff and wishing I had a snorkle some of the time! So sorry you should have been there....the filming was EPIC! BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

I would love to see what a 900 PRO runs like. Might be the perfect balance of power, a lot of guys I have talked to actually think that a turbo is a little unnecessary.

If the 900 comes from Jack and the guys at carl's, I'm almost for sure it will be another monster, motor. When can we put our order in? If you want the goods, a guy will have to pony up some more doe, above and beyond the 860. The time and technology, that is needed to make this motor be on top of its game, in performance, and trouble free miles has to be, Well more than I can count. So for there craftmanship and knowledge I will pay the money.
As stated above it WILL BE WORTH IT!!!!! I can't wait to get mine in the Pro.

I have the 860 and it has been without a dought one of the best trouble free, fun, power houses I have had the pleasure to ride. Gas and GO, again and again, and again and again. Never has left me stranded. There is not been an easy mile on that motor. I am on my secound season with it. Put around 1700 on it last yr.

Suitie when you call the boys at Carl's "gay" it just costs you an extra 2 hours labor! tee hee..I know it's a typo but its funny none the less. You home yet. Saw your Dad on the hill...didn't recognize him in his sled gear. He was giving me some Carl's crapola. I told him "only the best baby" It was comical.

Chris is correct the amount of time money and effort invested in these two kits are unbelievable. Every since the day I got on the PRO chassis I've been fired up about the big bores. If the results are as outstanding as the 860 in the IQ RAW watch out as that will be the fun buggy of the century.

Yes the 660 has me all giddy as well with the same theory as the 900! Cannot wait to swing a let over all of these sleds. I've also got some trickery going on with my 800 that might be interesting as well. Soooooon we will know

Shaddap...you've already ridden it. HAHA

LMAO Sorry. !!!!! it was a little funny when I went back to it.

Heck no i'm not home yet it is starting to piss me off. The winter has been slow so it was not bothering me to much. But now, well I am ready to put some more miles on the 860, it needs some loven! I am hopeing for some great March and Aprial riding even if I have to travel to the ends of the earth to do it.

Dad is a crack up for sure!

Is the 900 going to be a next season toy?

Well keep making lots of money so you can buy a PRO with a 900! Me thinks it will be flat out tiddlywinks! Suite when you get home give me a shout. Can't wait to have you feel the FOX Pro setup versus your dad's boner stock. HOLY NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE! Got a real eye opener this week in Wyoming switching back and forth amongst three PRO's. I thought that the stock suspension was pretty capable. Only if you don't know what a really good one feels like!

900

Jack says he's still a ways out. When you guys buy a Carl's setup you are getting pretty much what he worked on! He is very very hands on. There isn't enough time in a day to iron out all of the turbo stuff, big bore stuff, and also run a major league shop. Don't really know how he does it. Well sorta do..great great group of employees as a start!

Every RICH Polaris mtn free rider should seriously consider a combo for 2012. One PRO 660 and one PRO 900...wouldn't having to decide which hotrod to ride each day be a horrible chore? Us poor ol' worker bees will just have to do what we can to participate! Sadly I have to go to work tonight. 3 ft of fresh in McCall (ha ha suitecase... ah that isn't nice...)..and then off to 7 devils lodge! hi ho hi ho

Rob you are truely evil !! lol. Wish I could come and enjoy with ya. For sure will want to ride the Pro with the new goodies. For sure the stock set up does suck. There will be a Pro with the new 900 on the trailer, next season. Was hopeing to get a grip on the 900 late this spring, just to make my mouth water.

You headed to the Seven's this weekend ? Are you going to attend the RMEF dinner next weekend ? I hope Im getting close to hitting the snow.

Wonder where Brads (Power Addictions) Billet 1000/1100 will fit in, be sweet to see some exciting stuff from somewhere for 2012. So far from Ski-nuthin-noo and Yawnmaha its pretty lackluster on the new iron front. Seeing some new up and coming big bore gear is exciting!
