Carb 800 to EFI testing + Turbo

I think with the limited info we have been given I don't see a lot of people laying down deposits. The following info would be helpfull and would probably help you get deposits:
Price range Approx.
Horsepower at a certain boost
info on the fuel injection system
contents on the turbo kit
some vids of one on the snow
After seeing the way your 1200 turbos work I would be intrigued about a 800r turbo however more info would be needed for me to lay down cash.

i guess some of us just would like to see something showing it doing something. and its not even a vid for what the thread is about. im not interested in there stuff, as they have nothing for my setup, just trying to keep information flowing around. remeber when RB3 was the end all for turbo 4 strokes. how many guys threw those things out to get into a boost it system or others now. just because its awsome and new and efi doesnt mean its gonna kick ***.

I know p-lites makes some nice stuff, but dropping a deposit on a 10 second video clip showing a few short wot blasts in a meadow doesnt do a whole lot, yes, it runs, but come on, its free advertising, show us what your stuff can do.

im not trying to be a total dink, but come on, its not hard to get more info out to people.

i agree the video sucked i was thinking the same thing thats it. i also didnt here plites say it working great ranting and raving about it or anything. it was probably the first day out with. i am always just glad to see new stuff. If someone can get the etech to work well at 10lbs i think that would be a fun sled. Would i buy a kit based off that video hell no, but im glad to see there still out there testing.

so thats a turbo etec, not a efi converted R motor or which one is it?

The sled is an e-tec turbo not the converted 800r. The first vid he had of the sled with the platics tore off I would guess is the e-tec turbo as well (notice black tunnels on both vids). I have a feeling this is a feeler thread to see how much interest there would be in a carb to efi kit. I am a little skeptical that such a kit exists at this time. I hope it does get built though. If the kit worked well I think it would sell real well. There are too many xp owners craving boost!

why dont they want carbed boost, I build one with a friend and honestly, it was one of the cleanest running, easiest to tune sleds i have been around. hit super smooth and ran awsomely consistant. also been around some turbo etecs and they ran pretty good, but not for the boost they were pushing.

Agreed, carb turbos when tuned right run very well and are more crisp and clean than efi, and as reliable. But most people cant tune a carb turbo to save their motor if they have never been around it. So if p-lites can build an add-on efi system for currently turboed or non turboed sleds it would make life easier for most riders.
Cost obviously is going to be a big factor,as always. Is it possible to have an efi add-on for current turbo guys thats resonable? Would be nice to see...

It is interesting though to look at all the riders that want turbos and want them to be perfectly reliable.. On pump gas.. And will drop 5-7k on a turbo kits/parts. When they could lighten up the sled and add a belt drive to increase power to the track and be ahead of most pump gas turbos.. Especially when you factor in a new sled+turbo vs. 1-3 year old sled. Just a thought..

Revanator what are the best bang for the buck mods if you wanted to lighten an Etec 800 163 X? Also, is there more than one belt drive or just the C3? Does belt drive void the warranty? Does the belt drive lower the parasitic horsepower loss of the chain drive? Is a belt drive as durable and trouble free as chain drive? Sorry OT for off topic post.

For the Etec the best bang for the buck would be a Billit head for more power and a basic clutch kit, We have them in stock, for clutching a helix change and add a bit of weight. Our customers running them back to back said it was better then stock and held rpms, even when doing a quick nut or climbing off and on the throttle.
The billit heads also benefit the turbo guys to make them run safer. Guys without them are risking it.
